hbo is showing it for free. we don't get hbo, but we were able to watch today. it is being rebroadcast throughout the day/eve.

You know I didn't vote for him...but how ANYONE cannot be inspired by this man is beyond me.

I am a little scared for him--expectations are pretty high... Can you imagine the pressure?

well clearly the folks that aren't happy to see the new first family moving in are unable to separate the events of the day from politics. unable to see this as a celebration of our country, our democracy and freedom, and hopefully our restoration to the greatness lost in the last 8 years, it truly is an inspiring time.

I'm actually happy that America has elected our first minority President even though I disagree with his views. However, the 2000 election is old news and people need to get over it. Almost every recount that I'm aware of had Bush winning over Gore, so regardless of what the Supreme Court did, the right person won that election.

I think Garth Brooks played American Pie and another rocking song that I can't think the name of; I thought it was Don McLean but then the announcer said it was Brooks on all the songs--I thought he was pretty rockin' for a country singer .

He only has three starting from 2004. The first one is Get Lifted. Start there. I bought it b/c I loved Ordinary People. The next one is Once Again, which I really like too. And he released another CD in 2008, Evolver, a little different. He's written for other singers.

My view on this is Im not a Obama supporter and dont agree with his plans even though Im relieved that his appointments seem to indicate that hes not gonna be a far left whack job. Agree or not, he is the President of the United States, and deserves support and respect for that reason alone. Furthermore no other county whose citizens spend their time ragging on how horrible the USA is would ever have the racial harmony and social mobilty to allow a black man or woman to be secretary or state or President, and Ill suspend my disagreement with the man for just a minute in order to celebrate that fact

On the contrary, most countries that rag on how horrible the USA is already have people of mixed race (like Obama) or other ethnic backgrounds including 'black' in the very positions you mention. They would likely never put a white person in such a position though. It's like a twisted mirror image.

Good luck to Obama. A new era is certainly on the doorstep of many.

Any of my favorite bands could be playing a concert related to the inauguration and I wouldn't be the least bit interested. I just don't care for musicians doing anything politically-related unless it's just letting their music do the talking.

Dave, that would be like saying that you don't want to hear anything from me except that which has to do with mail carrying....I'm sure sometimes you feel that way, but I also have commentary on other things to do with everyday life.

Not to interupt here, but when has Arnold used acting to show support of any party? Also, when has he played any role in a movie which was politically motivated? He's an actor and a politician, but to my knowledge he's never crossed the two...I just don't see any connection here.

Thanks for breaking it down so that I could understand. All I said was that I haven't seen Arnold use politics for acting roles, and I haven't seen him make political statements in movies. this is pretty amazing and inspiring. we can't think of this sort of celebration in the past. obama is coming into office with our country in the worst shape in recent history. he carries the weight of the world and the hope of many on his back. i pray he is able to fix the multitude of messes we find ourselves in.

As hopeful as I am, I think that all Obama can really do is disapoint us because it appears that our expectations are way too high for him. Nobody can live up to what people think he can do for us. The guy's gotta lot of weight on his shoulders, I hope that he can help turn us around. I have to say, that it's REALLY NICE to hear people hopeful again, however short-lived it might be.


And I'm not 'trying to bring the room down or anything' but I just think the guy's gotta helluva hard road ahead of him.

I'll be happy if he can just say "Nucl-E-AR" correctly.
