There is no cure, and it will be from this moment forth a STIGMA.

Cure? Cure? Who the hell is looking for a cure? I'm a spoon. I know that. I've come to terms with it and all that it entails. It's not like it's a problem. I could stop anytime. I just need a little fix the get me through.

That is why I wrote this post, because us Loons need the people in the know to spill the beans and tell us things about SP that we don't know.
We are hungry to learn all that we can about the man, and there are people on this board that KNOW a hellva lot more than the new SPoons do.
I just took the most recent picture of Steve I got from the internet to this chinese lady that reads photographs and can tell a lot about a person from their picture. She said Steve is "worried" a lot, but very kind. She said the moles near his mouth means he is very wealthy. She thinks he is lonely also. It was an interesting read to hear. This women has been really spot on with other pictures I've
taken to her.

Well, the unfortunate truth is if you've spent 15-20 minutes on the internet you probably have all of the available information. If you missed it, let me recap it for you:

Born: Somewhere between 1949 and 1954 depending on which 80's teen rag interview you read. Portugese parents. Only child. Turkey ranch. Herbie Herbert. Journey. In. Out. In. Out. Loons left humping air. Somewhere in there was a love affair with sherrie Swafford (she of the "Oh, Sherrie" fame); the passing of his mother, whom he loved dearly, 2 1/2 solo albums, a rickety hip, and whipers of an illegitimate child.

Let me know if I missed anything.

No whispers. There's enough photographic evidence to support that he has a daughter, Shamira (ph.)) and grandchildren living in North Carolina.

I was trying to be as delicate and as diplomatic with that one as I possibly could, but yeah, you're right. I stand corrected.

Canvas woes! I am awaiting some replacement support bars. I am never buying retail ready stretched canvas again and will be making my own frames from now on. Plenty of other work to be getting on with in the meantime though - practice makes perfect!

Hey, I would never hurt a cat. Unlike Perry I actually like pussies!

Why does that not suprise me? LOL! I know what your saying about cavases. I love the ones that the canvas wraps around to the back, so you can paint the sides, I hate frames on my work. I want it to be an extension of the world, a frame boxes it up. They are more pricey than regular canvases, but they are cheeper if you don't have to frame them. Plus I find they don't warp because they are built better. If you go large you have to get support bars, you can build them yourself, look on line for how to instructions. I build strip frames for most of my work that are on regular canvas, and paint over the frames.

You never told me, do you paint professionally? You are excellent you know! :D

That's exactly the kind of canvas I use. Problem is they are so large that they are prone to warping especially when compared to smaller stretched canvas.

What dimensions are we talking? If it is very large, they should all have supporting cross frames. Sometimes you have to add them to the back. You think the makers would think about this when they make them that large.

These are the kind I like, they are made by Premier........... Double cross bars at the back to resist warpage.

Ones 6ft x 2ft and the other is 60 x 40 inches. They both have cross frames. On the 60 x 40 one of the support bars on the cross frame is bowed and on the other one the frame is bowed at the bottom edge. Loxley and Winsor & Newton, I am calling you out!

I've order replacement support bars for the 60 x 40 but the 6ft one is likely toast...like Perry's voice! Joking!

That Premier canvas looks nice. I might take a looksee if they are available in the UK, thanks!

What if you took her another pic of SP with the moles airbrushed out or rearranged?

Some of his pictures they are airbrushed out. He also has one in his left eyebrow. I know because I painted a picture of him...........and I am a spoon, I admit it!

CREEPER Ginger - not CREEPY! Lol. Creepers are out there on the same branch as stalkers on the lunatic tree. Not necessarily dangerous, but definitely weirder! Well okay creepers can be creepy, too. I'm just waiting for someone to bust out a post that they have a small piece of fabric from something he once wore or a lock of his hair from 1979 that they sleep with under their pillow every night. :P

So where does that put me..........I have no romantic intrest in Perry, though as an artist, I find him to be a nice looking gentleman, with great facial features. I painted the above painting for my senior show, because of said features. P.S. My artwork is of the fantastic variety, thus the pond and frogs.......... I would not follow him around, or bug him when he seems busy with family, friends, etc. I would like to ask him about his paintings if I ever got the chance, and it was a place he was willing to speak with fans. So analize my spoondom....................

I have a small peice of fabric from something he once wore...............LOL! ROMFL! I made the Journey Friendship quilt in the 80's and asked the band and the fans to participate by sending fabric. Thanks to the kindness of Lora and Cyndy, they arranged fabric peices from all the band members to be sent to be put on the quilt. I cut two peices in case one was damaged. I still have that peice..............I also have one from Ross, Smitty, Neal, and Jon! LOL!

You're just an avid fan, that happens to be gifted in art and draws inspiration from the man. You are no where close to being in danger of being locked up. However, if you get to the point you feel the need to bring out tarot cards to figure out the best time to "happen to run into him" or spend the day on google earth looking at the satellite picture of his house . . . well let me know.

My sister took a picture of Gregg Allman's mailbox. Should I worry about her?

Wow, that is truly beautiful and there was definitely a lot of time and effort put into that! Still makes you a dedicated fan - the good kind! If HH owns it now, that is really kind of a shame though. :( I hope if he was the last one with it, he didn't auction it off with alot of the other stuff he got rid of a few years back.

May be a good reason to make a duplicate, so I can remember it. I just don't have time any more. I was a stay at home mom at the time, and did that to wittle the hours away......I did not do art during that time and that was my creative outlet.

Quilt

Postby SP Fan in Oregon » Tue Jan 20, 2009 1:50 pm

I swear I read an interview where Steve Perry talked about the quilt as one of the best gifts a fan ever gave them.
I think he said that HE has the quilt on his BED!! I think the interview might have been one of the interviews on Fan Asylum.
I'll look for it again.

As a former Deputy District Attorney, I can tell you that you aren't stalking unless it is REPEATED AND UNWANTED and Steve Perry is in FEAR
for his life or that of an immediate family member. You must have all the elements of the crime. But if you get caught stalking once and you
do it again, on the same person, in Oregon you get 18 months in prison, even with no prior criminal record. I;m sure the penalty in California is double that....
There must be some sort of contact, not just trying to contact. Repeated trespassing on private property comes to mind as contact as well.
So looners, unless you are on his doorstep and he comes out and says, "get out of here" and you show up again on the doorstep, you aren't stalking.
One time on the doorstep you might get away with. Two times, you will be looking at the prison walls............ :?

Wasn't that quilt.................. HH I beleive has it, though Steve sent me a nice note thanking me for making it! Some other fan made him a quilt personally I think......... :D Though I would not cry if he ended up with it.................... I just cannot see HH giving it to him. Especially since the back looks like this.......

I knew I liked the cut of your jib. I'm sure that in no way constitutes legal advice and spoons should consult their own counsel. Having said that, stick around. Believe me, sooner or later one (or more) of the regular posters here is bound to need your professional advice. And I mean sooner rather than later.
