Perry vs Sinatra

Postby Duncan » Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:36 pm

I know this is ridiculous, but I'm pissed, so it I thought I would put my two favourite singers of all time up against each other. Who's the best? I went for Sinatra, but only late 50's era (Swing Easy, Songs For Swinging Lovers).

Perry. Though to be fair, I admit that I do tend to lean more toward the Sam Cooke and Motown kind of style.

I know, but if i wanted to disappear up my own arse i could talk about phrasing, emotion, how their voices changed etc. But that would be bollocks. This is a straight up who's best for fun, on a Friday night. I'm telling you get the old Sinatra out - he was the best.

Frank had a great voice along with Striesand and Celine. So many singers don't get music brought to them and disappear. That is the problem with most AI winners. Back then they had little competicion until Elvis and we all know how that went. Huge is the word ! Elvis was pushed aside by the Beatles and the British invasion. Elton made the scene in 1970 and still rolls on today . My point is to have it all and control your destiny, you must write, play instruments and have a great singer.

I didn't understand a word of that. Either you're too drunk to type coherently or I'm to drunk to read coherently. Its 4.30am here so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Perry couldnt put a pimple on Sinatras dago ass. He sang longer and and did more shit then Perry could ever do. Frank lasted 50 years and sang until he was retarded. He is a icon ,from the old school. Perry can never come even close to Frank ever .To even compare is retarded

Seriously? Sinatra had a vocal range of about 3ft whilst Perry soared.

Better to burn out than to fade away.

These are two amazing talents.

I voted for Perry.

My choice is based on my opinion that Perry could have performed creditably everything that Sinatra did. I'm not convinced that the reverse is true.
