Hehe those songs are considered filipino rock ballad anthems in the early 90's.

Not to be an alarmist, and this may only be due to technical difficulties or site changes, but has anyone else
noticed that in the events section of Arnel's site, all of the events that were previously listed are gone except
one? There were some charity shows coming up, the Superbowl pregame Febrauary 1st, and two Journey
concerts in Japan and the Philippines in March and those are no longer listed; only the February 28 charity
dinner for his foundation is still there.
Does anyone know if those events have been cancelled? Journey in the pregame and Bruce at halftime
are the only reasons I plan on watching the Superbowl. And I'm going to be concerned if the band is
cancelling out of major events like the Superbowl pregame.

They're still doing that gig (along with 5 time Grammy award winning R&B artist, John Legend) but it's invite only. It's part of a party for the media and sponsors at the superbowl with an openbar and all that. I've been to a bunch of these type of concerts at E! Entertainment. Half the people aren't even paying attention to the music, just getting drunk and walking around. The band won't have to even play well because the crowd isn't actually there to watch a concert, more like getting all the free swag they can score. It is nothing like the halfime show where the attention is focused on the performer, it's very little pressure, probably a great way to get the group back in the swing of things after their 3 month layoff.

But if it's in the parking lot, aren't all the Super Bowl goers going to be able to watch it too? Arnel is in the states now. I wonder if they will sing What It Takes to Win since it's a sports event. Of course, I'm sure Don't Stop Believing will be the one song televised.

The area has an open bar and free Food, it's not for the public, or regular fans going to the game. The people at this event are media and sponsors (around 10,000) who are having their own party paid for by the NFL. They picked an R&B artist and a Rock Group, just to have a variety of music to play while the people are partying and drinking. I don't think Journey will play any thing that is slow or ballad like, (people might start throwing bottles) but they can probably play what ever they want as long as they get the one song filmed. The show isn't being done for Journey fans, so they should experiment a little and see how some of the harder numbers sound, maybe throw in Winds of March or Lay it Down.

Wow, if that's true there's going to be some disappointed Arnel fans. A bunch of them are going to Tampa to see him.

Thanks, Aliaslen. I thought they were more recent songs.
