Another great show.

Yep, that one and Rockford Files and for some reason I always thought Quincy (Jack Klugman) was just the coolest! And don't laugh too hard but I loved this show when I was a kid, probably saw almost every one of them.......... http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=bhHrOgOkXZw
Rockford Files was my grandmother's favorite show and I watched it every day with her when I was a young kid. I loved Quincy as well. Kojak was a good show, too.

Amazing difference in James Garner (lookswise) between now and then, but he was fantastic in The Notebook. :D

I've never cried so much at the end of a movie. :(

Definitely missing both Buffy AND Angel. I actually liked the later seasons of Angel the best.

I also miss HOMOCIDE-Life on the Streets. It was, without a doubt , the gold standard of cop shows.

I miss the Gilmore Girls tremendously. I really should just come out of the closet when I say stuff like that. On the other hand, the thoughts that went through my mind when I saw the picture of Jenna Fischer would cause Alan Shore to blush.

I was pretty broken hearted when the last Boston Legal aired and I realized it was the last time Alan and Denny would share a moment on the balcony. It is rare that a show can display true friendship like that.

Hey you young shit...now you're talkin! Don't forget Cannon, Mannix, Barnaby Jones, Gunsmoke and Mission Impossible. How about Medical Center? Love American Style gave me a boner before I new what one was? Late night...Midnight Special! Twilight Zone...oh shit. Speaking of late night TV ...how about late night movies like Devil's Eight, Dirty Dozen, Birds, War of the Worlds, Ben? I'm getting jumpy sitting here working at 12:42 a.m. just thinking about those movies.

me too. That last show and especially towards the end when you knew you would never see them together again, like you said, on the balcony, how sad watching it. I thought this last season was excellent.

I loved Quantum Leap! Don Bellisario created and produced some of the best shows of the 80s:
Magnum, PI, Airwolf, and QL. There is a lot of talk of making Magnum into a movie, but without
Tom Selleck, I'm not interested. They keep making iconic TV shows into spoofs and they are
not particularly funny. Those Charlie's Angels movies could have been cool, but instead they were
stupid.

Magnum: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=JBVHKwf5mSc

Airwolf: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=AXehSng0NV4

Does anyone else remember MacGyver? http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=3w-oDZSLUrY&feature=related

 One of my 80s favourites, but I've never heard it described in quite those words! The only
funny sitcom on TV now is 'Two and a Half Men'.

I miss Twilight Zone and Seinfield! I've seen every Twilight zone ever made (several times! ), and even though Seinfield's last couple of seasons started to wear thin on me, I've never seen a cast that worked so well off of one another as I did in that show. They had a hell of a run!

I just watched a bunch of Twilight Zone's for the marathon thing they do for New Years. I always loved those and watched them with my dad when I was a kid, and my kids actually sat and watched them with me. They are black and white and old and they still stayed interested!

Yeah...my son likes them too. I have all of the old ones. I also own the color series from the 90's (or maybe later-not sure). They had Forrest Whittaker as the host. They were great too, but didn't last that long. Many haven't seen them, but there was also a short-lived color version in the 80's. They were real campy and the special effects sucked. Some of the stories were great though.

My favorite episode from the 80's series was one with a food critic...he is an asshole and any restaurant that doesn't bow to his feet gets terrible reviews and ultimately shut-down. He goes to a new chinese restaurant and is a complete ass to the people there. He threatens them and says he's going to ruin them. When he reads his fortune cookie it says "You are going to die". He's pissed off, and leaves.

Later that night he wakes from a terrible nightmare and has an uncontrollable urge to go back to that restaurant. He makes his way there and sits down at a table. They start bringing him plates of food and he starts stuffing his face...he can't stop! They bring him plate after plate, and he just can't stop eating...he ends up eating himself to death!

There's another great episode involving a food critic, but I'll save that for another post.

I miss being home sick or a day off from school and watching reruns of The Courtship of Eddie's Father. <- that was totally random

I miss the nighttime dramas too. I loved Magnum PI!! Its hard to pick what I "miss" because everything is on DVD now.

I remember watching the newer ones too and I think I vaguely remember that episode you're talking about! I always loved them because you never knew what the twist would be. I think they were even kind of ahead of their time. And I'm not a huge sci-fi lover, but I love mystery, so I think that's why they always had me hooked.

Magnum PI was cool. Does anyone else remember 'Tales of the Golden Monkey'?
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Whoa! I knew exactly what show you were referring to with that phrase, before even opening the link! I loved Quantum Leap. My favorite episodes are the ones that he got to see his family.

I really miss Farscape, too, and now I'm missing both Stargates (SG1 and Atlantis -- even though I thought the original movie sucked), and soon I'll be missing Battlestar Gallactica, which I *never* thought I'd get into after being such a fan of the original. I think it's way cool that Richard Hatch is on the new verison, too, and he's such a bad guy.

Some other favorites were Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (Kevin Sorbo  ), Zena: Warrior Princess, and Angel.

I think I saw that they're coming out with another Stargate though, which I think is called Stargate Universe (or something like that).

Six Feet Under. Absolutely the best show, best characters, best acting, writing and storylines ever. I bought myself the series boxed set a couple of years ago and still watch the series from start to finish every once in a while. Glad I'm still able to see Michael C. Hall as Dexter, but SFU was so much better!
