I removed those demos because despite my asking that people not compare my single take writing version to Kevin Shirley's brilliant production and Arnel's comped 253 take version it still popped up on YouTube with people (mostly pinoys) talking about how terrible and fat I am. So another dumb move by me.

How would you know it was a "comped 253 take" version?

I agree here Jeremey. And as long as you put a song up for people to hear...they're gonna compare it to any other version out there (that's why I do nothing but originals! ) Also, who said you couldn't use pro-tools, etc and beef up the demo yourself? Nothing wrong with doing that and making it sound as good as possible! I like your take on "Never Walk Away", but it was VERY rough around the edges. If you used a little pitch correction and polished it up, I think I'd actually prefer your version.

Fuckin a people. I'll just shut up now. Of course I don't know it was a "253 comp take" version. I simply meant Jon and I wrote the words and I put them up on a goddamned music stand and sang them one time. That was compared with a version that OBVIOUSLY was a bit more polished around the edges. Compare Arnel's accent alone on the Greatest Hits (JCain's Version) versus the perfectly annunciated Revelation songs.

Here's a nice tidbit - I mispronouced a word on "Where Did I Lose Your Love" and Arnel pronounced it the same way. BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA! Who fucking cares!?

And no, I wasn't given a multitrack version I could pull up in pro tools and tamper with and make sound better.

Now I know why I hardly ever post here anymore.

Goodnight

Thanks Jim....Sorry if I sounded a bit to harsh but I don't realize how very big the internet is sometimes. I put up a copy of that demo on my Myspace page for people here who asked about it and imagine my surprise a few months later to find that Arnelophiles had posted it all over YouTube talking about the fat white nonsinging motherfucker who helped write the song.

Sorry guys. Bad night tonight. Bottle of White Zin and a handful of pills. Great combo.

Hey bro...how many writing credits does Arnel have in the Journey catalog? NONE.

Don't get me wrong I think Arnel is great, but you actually helped WRITE a Journey tune (And a DAMN GOOD ONE!), so don't let the naysayers gets you down.

I read some of those shitty comments, and while I have no doubt that most of them probably were from overzealous Pineda fans I think there were also comments from others trying to make Arnel's fans look bad.

I apologize too Jeremey. I just re-read my post and noticed I said VERY rough, which was wrong of me. It wasn't VERY rough, it just needed a little TLC. Like I said, I really think I liked your version better. Sorry for being so rude about it.
