JP wrote:JP- Dave is great. I just spoke with him. He's going to be on the show on Thursday. We're doing Somewhere In America, which is a real oldie that is from the very first record. We're doing it because it was like a hit in Chicago. We're doing Summer Nights. We're doing The Eye of The Tiger, of course, Dave's singing it. This is gonna be a blast. Jimi and Dave are gonna go up there and do a duet—something—I haven't figured out what yet.

Just kidding. Good interview and well worth the wait. I don't think they like Francis too much.
Joe Vana wrote:JP- Yeah, there were a lot of frustrations with Survivor. One of them was that there was only room for one guitar player on that stage and it was Frankie. You know, as a vocalist, it's public record, I really, really missed singing. When I first started with Dave Bickler, it was supposed to be kind of like a duets thing but other people had other visions and that's the way it went. I don't regret because we had a huge success but it was frustrating as a musician

Stretching it there. It indicates that he had some whimsical early aspirations about sharing lead vox and later possibly some fantasys about singing lead but at nowhere do I see him say "I LEFT SURVIVOR BECAUSE I WANTED TO SING LEAD."

No where is JV implying that!

Indeed, nothing implied about it.
He said it outright.
Red13JoePa wrote:Yea but were exactly did Peterik say it? If you mean he always wanted to but new he could never be a Bickler/Jamison/McCauley like frontman, then we're on the same page.

Hi JV. A couple of questions: 1. Was JP supposed to sing more when the Voyager Project idea was first bounced around and 2. When is the new Mecca 2 coming out? I can't wait.
Eyeof wrote:JV...can't agree more...with Bickler there, I really can't think of a reason for anyone else to sing lead vocal and especially JP...no offense to JP, but he's voice is okay at times at best, while Bickler is a vocal legend.

Better be careful.....he might sue you for speaking ill of him like that and implying that he did something deceitful.
