Old news... where have you been? A shame you can read that story and only take your title from it. The story is, "Arnel beats drugs and alcohol, puts his life back together and becomes someone that his family and friends, and many people all over the world look up to." Show some respect, man.

There may be a job waiting for you at the National Enquirer. You have the tools they are looking for, but need to work on your timing.

Easy up, Lil' Bukaroo.
Don't get your panties in a bunch.

How is this old news?
Some of us that come here, don't spend every waking moment here.

Some of us also don't eat, breath, sleep, and crap, Journey, and it might be new news to some, like myself.
I normally don't involve myself in the personal lives of bands and musicians,I prefer to enjoy their music.
I thought it was an interesting article, taking into consideration his "Cinderella Story" and squeaky clean image, and unlike "the Enquirer" he and his wife are OPENLY talking about his addiction and recovery, to an actual news outlet.

BTW, the headline on the site reads "JOURNEY Singer Says He Lost Nearly Everything To Drugs", not "JOURNEY Singer Says He Lost Nearly Everything to Butterflies and Lollipops".

Don't worry, I'm sure he's still your hero. :D

While maybe the thread title could have been constructed better..who fricken cares. Like she said, not everyone lives and breaths Arnel and/or Journey. I had no idea about this, so I found the article interesting and inspiring. Just because something doesn't look all rosy on the outside regarding our idols, doesn't mean there is always a need to not admit it's there. If Arnel doesn't try to hide it and actually speaks out about it, not sure why anyone else would have a problem with it.

Because the technically accurate thread title didn't present it as a personal triumph against all odds.

Hey, nothing personal, man. And I've actually been crapping Boulevard this week. It's a little lighter and doesn't clog up the plumbing as bad. Have a good week, bro.

I totally understand where you are coming from, and what you are getting at. Arnel is a fine singer but goddamn, he isn't the fucking world's saviour nor is he a top rock performer. Having said that, I can also tell you that your avatar is pretty embarrassing as well. I will take Pineda over that scumbag Schon any day of the week.

Hey, man. No one is advocating being a perpetual cheerleader for anyone or especially hiding any of this stuff, but there are a lot of "technically accurate" things that can be said about all of us that take things out of perspective. The thread was titled such to get a certain kind of reaction, plain and simple.

I try to be as objective as possible. I'm a major supporter of A.P. and recognize that some people put him on too high a pedestal -- so does he. He never misses the opportunity to downplay his own image, looks, significance, whatever. I think he really just wants to be seen as a regular guy who got lucky, but he is also a good leader who is trying to set a good example for his fans. People need to realize what is important and quit focusing on the trivial.

I have to say I consider him a top performer -- new to us, sure, but he kicked A on tour last year in spite of overwhelming odds. Not trying to dress it up to make a fairy tale feel good story out of it, it's just the facts. Got to give him credit for that.

While I agree the title looked out of context to a degree...and maybe if she had added something like 'hey, did you guys know about this?' or 'I had no idea' to the body of her post, but ultimately the response she got was not based on just the title..there were enough 'who cares', quit trying to bring him down' posts that clearly illustrated people's desire to bury the subject.

Actually bumped him up a notch in my books (Deen as well). I have great respect for anybody that can beat their demons. I personally know some that can't.....and seem to have an endless supply of "hitting rock bottoms". Good for him!

Anything. Friend, co worker, band mate. I wouldn't do any fucking thing with Neal Schon. Beside Jonathan Friga Cain, he is the worst person in the world. Oh and Rush Limbaugh too.

He did beat it, he's one of the lucky ones. Most don't.

40% of the population will have some form of an addiction in their life. This stat blew me away "The odds of an alcoholic or addict quitting drinking or using drugs "on their own" without professional help or regular recovery meetings is 1 in 50,000."

Wow.

I've heard repeatedly that one out of 10 who do seek treatment make it past a year. Another 10% make it to the year after that. Once they make it past 10 years, it's looking better. But most slip.

Keep doing what you're doing Arnel!!!!
