If Arnel doesn't try to hide it and actually speaks out about it, not sure why anyone else would have a problem with it.

Because the technically accurate thread title didn't present it as a personal triumph against all odds.

Hey, man. No one is advocating being a perpetual cheerleader for anyone or especially hiding any of this stuff, but there are a lot of "technically accurate" things that can be said about all of us that take things out of perspective. The thread was titled such to get a certain kind of reaction, plain and simple.

While I agree the title looked out of context to a degree...and maybe if she had added something like 'hey, did you guys know about this?' or 'I had no idea' to the body of her post, but ultimately the response she got was not based on just the title..there were enough 'who cares', quit trying to bring him down' posts that clearly illustrated people's desire to bury the subject.
Do you mind if i squirt some shit on your avatar so I dont have to look at a bush doom?

Ha. Go right ahead. I only put it up when I saw Andrew have such a freaked out reaction to it when someone put up 2012.

Anything. Friend, co worker, band mate. I wouldn't do any fucking thing with Neal Schon. Beside Jonathan Friga Cain, he is the worst person in the world. Oh and Rush Limbaugh too.
I can see all three doin a daisy chain together,Rush would be the Ned Beatty

Alright Perry enough of this shit. Stop trying to dog AP because you're jealous. Also stop leaving hateful comments on Arnel's youtube videos. It's very hurtful and just shows that you can't accept that Arnel is a better singer than you and is now being considered by many as "The True Voice". We know you have agents out there trying to sabotage this incarnation of Journey but it won't work. Journey is going to be even bigger this year and you can't stop it. Expect a trip back to the SuperBowl as the half time performer and multiple Grammy nods this upcoming year. Stop being a hater.

Jana, would a "??" instead of the "!!" made any difference in the Title? :P

  Yeah, I just didn't like the title. Arnel has mentioned his drug use in many interviews since he was hired. Especially when he was 26 and was so burned out and not realizing his dreams and drug use destroyed his voice and was told he would never sing again. Then we went back home for months and cleaned up and got his voice back. I love his resolve and find his life story interesting and love that he shares it. Peace.

By the way, welcome, Isla. 8)

Don't get your panties in a bunch.

How is this old news?
Some of us that come here, don't spend every waking moment here.

Some of us also don't eat, breath, sleep, and crap, Journey, and it might be new news to some, like myself.
I normally don't involve myself in the personal lives of bands and musicians,I prefer to enjoy their music.
I thought it was an interesting article, taking into consideration his "Cinderella Story" and squeaky clean image, and unlike "the Enquirer" he and his wife are OPENLY talking about his addiction and recovery, to an actual news outlet.

BTW, the headline on the site reads "JOURNEY Singer Says He Lost Nearly Everything To Drugs", not "JOURNEY Singer Says He Lost Nearly Everything to Butterflies and Lollipops".

Don't worry, I'm sure he's still your hero. :D

Hey, nothing personal, man. And I've actually been crapping Boulevard this week. It's a little lighter and doesn't clog up the plumbing as bad. Have a good week, bro.

No Harm Done, Sir!! :D
It's Super Bowl weekend!!
Enjoy yourself!!

No, but I do know T-Pain is part of the Pre-Game show. I hope he can play some of his hits, "Fucked Up", "Chopped & Skrewed", and the unforgettable "I'm N Luv (Wit A Stripper)".

Dude, I am so stoked, can't fucking wait!

Bullshit, Rick. Why delete the thread? Because Arnel's halo doesn't glow irridescent purple (unlike Neal's famous shirt) in this light? It's just a topic for discussion. I didn't know that Arnel had a history of drug use. Now knowing it, I have no more or no less respect for him because of it. Lots of people (especially in the music biz) have battled that demon and come out on the other side, and likewise he's no messiah simply for having experienced it.

There's a whole lot about other members of Journey, past & present, that I've learned by reading threads just like this. Shit, if not for MR, I would have never learned of SA's vocal problem and discovered JSS, which is what led me to meet lots of great folks here!

If Arnel is comfortable enough talking about it publicly, why can't we? :?

No big deal here. I've toked, Neal apparently likes to drink, Deen does..whatever he does and The Voice played with blow, (allegedly). All part of life, nothig to be ashamed of. We all have or had vices that weren't healthy. Better that this was out in the open rather than be dug up by some slimeball who would try to benefit from the knowledge if was a secret.
