John Legend is not a rapper.

Thank you!
GB had a retard moment

Aah, I see, R&B, Not rap. Just call me Archie Bunker then, I didn't know there was a difference.

T-Pain is a rapper. John Legend is not a rapper, and I wouldn't say he's R&B either.

Cain confirmed it would be DSB?

(I thought Legend was going on before them)

No, Legend is actually going to sing DSB and Arnel is going to cover one of Legend's songs with The Zoo Band.

Don't you need tattoos to sing Legend's songs?

(I'm just going by his videos and what he's sporting)

Don't you need prison tattoos to sing Legend's songs?

 Okay, now you really are turning into Archie Bunker. You don't need prison tats. His style is better suited to the jail-house sissy types. He could easily rival Cain in the syrupy corn-ball department.

There was mention on the radio this morning of Journey and Springsteen playing. Only about an hour from here, and I'm sure the traffic between here and there will be loads of fun for those traveling there for the game, lol.

Man, Melissa, I hope it's not raining or any crashes. At 3:50 going from Michigan Ave./I-4 exit to Maitland exit took me two hours and tenminutes. Usually a 30-minute drive or less at that time of day. Beyond a nightmare. I never went over five to seven miles an hour. I was mental when I got home.

I watched inside edition, access hollywood, and even the local news and they mentioned John Legend, Faith Hill, Bruce, and Jennifer Hudson, but no Journey. It looks like the american media has once again snubbed Journey. Go figure!!

Journey should also play a different song besides "Dont Stop Believen". They have 18 top 40 singles how about exposing some of their other great songs like: Wheel in the sky, Seperate ways, Any Way You Want it, Stone in Love, Just the same way...etc. Man it seems like they have been defined by one song: dont stop believen.

That's probably not their call. I'm sure the NFL is going to chose that song as the one to air, though. How predictable. I'm sure Neal and Jon would prefer something else, like What It Takes To Win. Perfect song. Hey, it was good enough for the Olympics, why not the Super Bowl.

DSB is the most overrated song I can think of. The only redeeming quality is that it's Journey, which is good enough to make almost any crappy song tolerable.

Except "Homemade Love."

Honestly. Perry's sang better, Neal's played better, they've all wrote better. The song's best moments are within the first 60 seconds. After Neal's blistering mini-solo, I skip it.

And they don't need to do another Perry-era classic. Let's bust out some "Change for the Better." Six minutes of audio orgasm. An audiogasm.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I would think they want a song people actually know. And to top it off, the song starts off slowly and low key. You've only got a few seconds to keep the TV audience from going on a piss break, You want the opening notes of the song to be catchy. Be Good To Yourself/Never Walk Away or Separate Ways would have been my choice.

Playing DSB might sell a few more Greatest Hits CD's, so I guess Jon and Neal can live with that.

Surely they'll throw NWA on there. It's the opening song to their setlist in Tampa.

Agreed 100%. Although I'm sure it'll be DSB, I'd love to see Separate Ways. As much as it would be nice to see a Revelation song, they're not going to keep people's attention with a song they don't know.

I take it they only get one song on TV. I'm doubting it'll be NWA. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

Same here. It needs to be a song from Revelation and I'll take any of the following: NWA, WDILYL, or CFtB.

Neal has spurts.

Edit: But seriously. Great picture. I've always loved Neal's look: he just exudes badassery. Except in the '80s, where they all looked and dressed retarded (until '86).
