How much of Journey's pre-game show will be televised?

Postby jrnyjetster » Sat Jan 31, 2009 12:17 pm

Jon Cain said they will play an hour set, but predicts only Don't Stop Believin' will air. Anyone know what time they will hit the stage? I'm guessing about 4:00p?

Incidentally, I heard US Airways Captain Sullenberger and his crew will be honored as well during the Superbowl pre-game festivities.. I wonder if that will be around the same time Journey hits the stage? I think it'd be real cool if Journey dedicated a song in their honor.

They're supposed to show an inteview with Obama too. Just watch NBC for about 6 hours straight and you'll probably be able to see the performance. I'll just put on myTokyo Escape Tour Remastered boot DVD. I know it's the third song on that setlist, that way I can spend the rest of the pre-game doing other things.

Jester, Journey isn't playing in the stadium. They are probably on a couple flatbed trailers in the parking lot. You might see a 30 second clip from them if you're lucky.

From what I gather, there will be a stage set up and not the half assed one you described.

Wouldn't that be somethin' if your new best friend Bruce joined Journey on stage for a number? :P

He wouldn't dare lower himself to that garbage. Journey couldn't play with E Street.

Maybe he should inject a little of that Botox into his saggy man-boobs.

Arnel never used anything. Retract the statement or change the name of the thread to something more positive!

Okay, let's change the name of the thread to "Journey Frontman Pulls a Janet Jackson at Superbowl".

Not positive enough it is still derogatory to Arnel! The following is much better...

"Journey Frontman Pulls Janet Jackson at Superbowl".

Arnel's Skull is huge in that photo. You could use his forehead as a desk to write on.

Running for cover now! Perhaps I'll visit Arnel's site as it will soon be vacated with all it's regulars posting here for a while...

No don't worry! The "vets" will keep picking all of the current Journey line-up supporting posters off one by one and then soon you will have the board you obviously all want. It'll be just like old times. Afterall, it's obvious they are all missed. Cause the drama was SO great back then! I miss it so much

No thanks. This place was like a warzone when I first joined up and got much worse before it got 'better'. It was around the time that tapegate hit.

I really like the current line up, always have.

Hey, I like Arnel. But he still has a potato head, just like Perry has a nose that would make Mr. Snuffilufigus proud.

Well, since I have nothing personally invested in Arnel, I could really care less what names you call him or what features you make fun of. That's what people do with anyone who's famous. I get that. That's why I am NOT a cheerleader :P But that other thread did APPEAR to be a title that was meant to upset those that ARE sensitive. And if that was not the intention of it, then fine. But I don't see why those people have to be ripped apart for feeling that way about him.

I think we pretty much treat AP like a kid anymore. Everyone is so afraid of being called a racist, it's mostly PG humor we use regarding him, even though we tend to go full speed on the other members. I didn't have any problem with Rip defending him. Rokken was the one that started the thread on AP's own site about his past demons. My problem is with the people that get offended if you joke even a little about Arnel. He's just another famous person and gets treated like the rest of the celebrities around here. The thread title was fucked up but it is fixed so no big deal to me. I'm just here having fun, I really don't judge anyone I meet on the net as we know so many people act differently when the don't have the cloak of cyberspace anonymity to hide behind. Myself, pretty much what you read is what you get. I am what I am. I don't go to other forums and use a different User ID or any of that other pussified shit, because of what I say here. I is who I is.

Well, I don't think saying he has a Potato head would be a racist remark  I really don't disagree with anything you just said either. I guess I just hate when people's feelings are hurt. Not Arnel's, being famous puts him in that spotlight, but fellow board members.

I'm glad you clarified that. I don't think I've ever gone after a board member unless seriously provoked. We're all in the same cyberhouse. I've even tried to steer clear of the "gatorangels gone wild" or"BS/SW2 Rumble" stuff. Once we start hurting each other, it's not exactly an enjoyable atmosphere anymore.
