Progressive rock like DT, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Rush etc. are full of songs with haunting melodies...

Sting's voice goes well with this type of music but I usually think of pop with him. The "riff" @ 2:40 in shape of my heart is the best part in the song.

Here's one of his I can think of that is haunting throughout.

Martina McBride ~ Concrete Angel

Probably wasn't a dry eye in the audience after this performance, she's an amazing vocalist. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=C9VHl9zbC ... re=related

This song isn't sad, in fact its rock but Adams takes Sting's keening style and runs it through a turbo boost. He's practically screams out how much he wants the girl. Its either him screaming or the guitar wailing.

Two versions of "Slave To Love". The first very simple and sad, some say that's the better version.

Damn, who filmed that? Thomas Edison on a kinetograph?

Watching this, its easy to see what Perry was talking about when he said it was tough working on the Houston dvd. Seeing himself sing like this and what he had. At least he got to capitalize on it.

That was better than I expected. Campbell sounds life weary there.
