I don't really care if they do another DVD unless they have some new music to go with it...god knows they have more live releases than the Grateful Dead relative to how many albums they made. I'd kill to actually be able to get to a show though.

As a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, fan of both EM and MB,I love the 2 records they did with Kotzen, but I am TRULY happy to see Paul Gilbert back in the mix.
Let's hope they do some US dates or at least get a DVD out of the reunion shows in Japan.

Me too. Some great songs on those. Kotzen was a great fit vocally with EM too. Superfantastic and Shine are 2 faves. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=tkEdorSza ... re=related

I would have been happy with either MB version, but great to see it's all the original members. :) Would love to see some of my faves like Merciless, Tempermental, Green-tinted 60s Mind and Take Cover performed live. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=8-bSz8WcH ... re=related

Yep, I remember. :) That must have been a thrill singing with one of your major influences! Great clip of you guys doing Shine....... http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=dfhA8tgbpj4
The accoustic version of Voodoo Kiss was great too. Would love to have seen that show, but it was the same weekend as JSSB's California shows, at least I got to see EM join JSSB for a song in San Francisco a couple days before his show with you guys. :)

Still hope they play a few north american dates, would love to see them live. Any idea when this Japan tour is? I'm going to be such a youtube spaz.

im with you deb, crossing fingers and toes, that they decide to give the US fans a few shows too.

Never say never........

A source within the Mr. Big camp further confirmed the news to me directly, adding that: "Japan is the only thing confirmed at the moment. That doesn't mean that nothing else will happen eventually, however they're going to start with Japan."

Yep, I'll be the spaz in the front row singing every word. Well you know, nothing different than Mohegan.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of the two Kotzen albums as well.

Actually, and I might get shot for this, but...I think they're more consistent song-for-song than any of the 4 Gilbert-era albums save Lean Into It. I love both versions of the band but Kotzen really brought more of a songwriting element to the band than Gilbert did...Gilbert proved himself to be a spectacular power pop songwriter on his solo LP's (which I love) but seemed to keep that element out of most of the Mr. Big stuff.

Was surprised to learn after the fact that Paul wrote all the lyrics and music for this one........ http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=wqIZ1eKjB ... re=related

Yeah...amazing song.

There's a handful of tunes on the first LP and Hey Man that I'm really into, but I find both of them frustratingly inconsistent, and Bump Ahead did absolutely nothing for me at all.

I'd love to see them do something from the last two albums with PG but I wouldn't hold my breath....maaaaaybe "Shine" or "Superfantastic," one of the poppier songs that won't require a lot of intense learning by Gilbert, but even then I'd be surprised.

AGREED,though there are some GREAT songs on S/T,Get Over It and Bump Ahead.
Come to think of it Hey Man had some gems too, ESPECIALLY Take Cover!!!
Promise Her The Moon should have been a huge, huge radio hit.

Yeah, I love every record and Take Cover is in the Top 5 all time songs from the guys... I also have every record Eric ever sang on. One of the greatest!

Wait until you hear his tune on the upcoming Rick Springfield Tribute album....

I've been listening to HEY MAN the most lately. Take Cover has always been a fave. Great vocal work by EM on songs like The Chain, Going Where the Wind Blows and just love Where Do I Fit In. Love this one too...... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g2TrEdi5ZQ :D

It's okay, I'm a fan of A-Ha and to most people they only have one song as well, so I feel Rick's pain.

But my god, if you've ever played in a cover band, you hate Jessie's Girl more than any other song in the universe. Ugh.
