Time For Me To Come Clean

Postby madsplash » Wed Feb 04, 2009 1:54 am

I love SP and Journey! Gotcha!

Seriously, even though it wasn't a perfect performance by Arnel at the SB, it was still just great to see the band on such a big stage. I'd of course prefer it to be with The Voice, or with our own Jeremey, but it was still something special to see such a legendary song still being played by such a legendary band.

As for the poll, do you honestly think SP watched the performance?

Judging by how much Steve Perry purposely separates himself from the rest of Journey and repeatedly insists he has no plans of ever rejoining with them, leads me to believe that he doesn't go out of his way to watch any of this stuff, but I'm sure he got an ear full from friends/relatives that did yesterday. He just seems so done with all of it, that I doubt he has much interest at this point.

I think he probably went out of his way to NOT see it. Perry's so sensitive and it's like a dagger in the heart to him to see them playing with another singer.

Don't know if HE watched, but I did.

I thought the band was tight and sounded pretty good, but the singer once again struggled through it.

Now C'mon BJGirl( ),I don't claim to have any knowledge of what the man watches on TV, just that there will be a new release in 2009. I'm still as confident as ever about that.

So that wasn't you crusin' slowly past Perry's gated community on Super Bowl Sunday only to be spotted later on in the undergrowth outside his home with a set of binoculars and no pants? I need better sources!

Perry was probably part of the conspiracy behind AP's poor performance.
NS will use the Super Bowl show as evidence to oust AP after the eastern gigs.
Then Perry's latest work will get redone as a new Journey release.
Hey, with this band, you never know...

Then he should've got his sh*t together and got back with the band. For it to be a 'dagger' to him is silly.
The guy had a bazillion chances to mend things with them and they've moved on. I can't blame them. If I had a guy that wouldn't work, but I had to, I'd do the same thing. Most would.

He'll have the last laugh though. When his solo album comes out. Oh ... yes.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Agreed. It's weird how the most powerful singers in the world usually seem to be ultra sensitive. After watching the VH1 Journey BTM it is obvious that Perry is very sensitive, especially about the music that Journey made. Neal knew this, and used it as a dagger in Perry's heart when he rerecorded the classics. The only reason anyone would have recorded them was to say, "We don't need Steve Perry - he's not what was unique about this band."
