I state again it was a good performance, not an awful one but definitely not an amazing performance that he's perfectly capable of and that would have wowed millions of fans that didn't know him or know that Journey was even still around. Sure, we can debate it here, but the lurkers read it and don't like it, just like you lurking on other sites you don't like what they say. And the Jouney saga goes on and on and on and on . . . . . . .

I was going to say well written/said, BUT, Jana, you make it seem like Pineda is a rookie, a 19 yr old who has no experience. Every singer worth his salts knows how crucial preparing properly is to a good sounding show. Pineda is 40 years old. He has to be smart enough to say to himself, fuck that fundraiser, this is the SUPER BOWL! You cannot make a mistake on this level. How can you hardcore fans expect the band to rejoin greatness if they can't leap the smallest of hurdles. This had to be right, had to be done correctly, NO mistakes. He committed the worst sin a singer could do. Perry would NEVER have done a gig the night before regardless of locale and I can say for certain JSS wouldn't even think about it. Hell, now I think about this, they should have used a fucking tape for this one song. Everyone and their uncle knew it was going to be DSB. Had I been Elson, I would have thrown a recorded DSB in there and said the hell with this live crap. If Pineda can't be responsible enough to take this serious, and the Super Bowl is fucking as serious as it gets, then shame on him.

No sense in beating him while he's down any further, I just think the way you defend him is a bit too motherly. He is not a teenager. he is an aged, experienced singer. he knows what has to be done.

No, actually, I'm not. I think he lacked the discipline heading into this gig and took on too many other activities. He's to blame for that. He did what he needed to to last year b/f Ellen and the summer tour, which he didn't do this time. I said in another post he was too lax in preparation heading into the SB concert. I'm saying I'm sure he's beating himself up about it. But I did start rambling in the previous post and didn't know if I was making sense.

FYI I have replied over there to the poster in a very fair and soft spoken way and am waiting a response.

It is posted under the thread titled "Journey on Super Bowl."

Pussy!

Kidding aside though, I think that is the right thing to do. That is their space and people who are new or not a regular member should respect the way they do things there.

touche

But hey, you asked for the translation, I just twisted it a bit because I know how you and some MR folks enjoy gay jokes. I will come out clean though. The actual translation is:

"Hey sumbitches (intentionally misspelled), saying the Journey is better than Bruce is like claiming that Behshad (or me if we look at your sig  ) isn't gay."

Well, I don't want to get banned outright or I wouldn't be able to respond to replies on my post. And there are some cuties over there.

The thing is, the Superbowl doesn't mean much to a Pinoy. While America stops whatever it is doing on Superbowl, life goes on the Philippine side of the world.

I am not making an excuse, just stating a fact. I think an artist should be professional enough to prepare as best as he can whether he is performing in a small bar or performing for God :)[/quote]

What??? Seriously. Really?!? Then why are the Pineda fans on the other site acting like Arnel just landed on the moon? And anyway, it doesn't matter if it doesn't mean much to a Pinoy, it meant much for the band, you know, his primary employer. I actually feel for the guy. It seems that he's trying to do all these thing and be everything to everyone. In the final analysis, he's going to have to choose one thing, commit to it, and foresake all others.
