I guess the Brits love Bruce (Who knew?)
His new album went straight to the top of the charts over there.

I would think he would debut number 1 here in the States as well. If the record came out 1/27, how long until they post on the charts? He may have number 1 and number 2 with that shit Walmart release he threw out there.

Bruce is much more popular in the UK and Europe than in most of the States outside of the major cities. People in Europe still listen to his new stuff versus here where it provides the audience with a bathroom break.

Ah, you saw Live in Barcelona didn't you? Has there ever been a better live disc?

Euro fans are 40 times better than US fans.

In your honest opinion, how does Working on a Dream compare with Magic? I've heard a mixed bag so far. I know that link to a bunch of YouTubes was up here a bit ago, but I don't really like judging an album from YouTube compressed shit. If you say it's good (as I expect you will), is it in the style of Magic or is it more contemplative Bruce? I like the former better. I didn't really care for the title track during the SB, but I think the choir kinda weirded me out.

Honestly? Workin on a Dream the song is one of the weaker ones, IMO. I can listen to Outlaw Pete, My Lucky Day and Life Itself, and Kingdom of Days over and over. The Wrestler is a solid tune and gets radio play, but my favourite so far is Queen of the Supermarket..such a beautiful ballad and he manages to drop a F Bomb in for good measure.

I like it a lot more than Magic. Magic had that political tone to it, and some songs were weak I thought.

Hmm, ok. I suppose I'll buy it off iTunes here soon... maybe sample some of those tunes first

I think aliens may have kidnapped Deano and replaced him with a malfunctioning clone.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I agree. Love the new album. Workin on a Dream to me, is definitely one of weaker tunes (wish he had chosen another tune for halftime), but My Luck Day, What Love Can Do, and Life Itself are top notch. It's great seeing him so prolific at this point in his career. And then to see him in town or at a school function as just another parent is simply amazing. Very grounded guy.
