......drive in movie theatres? Who here remembers the heady days of the Nixon Administration, when a man wasnt a man until he got lucky in the back of a ford mustang at the drive in movies?
:D

And what ever happened to this great band

You had to be a contortionist to get laid in the back seat of a Mustang.

Gin & Tonic- ?? Nixon Administration???? Please it was earlier, I think. Let's see Drive In's 50-60's in my life were where everyone went and by the 70's Movie theaters were the place to go. I also think our 1927 Ford model T saw many a date that was hell stuck in a muddy rut years before we bought it.

When I was growing up,the house I lived in was up the hill from a drive in theatre.
In the winter they would show, X rated flicks, and you could see the screen pretty clearly,
when the trees were bare.
We used to sneak into the theatre in the summer and party in the wooded clearing behind the theatre.
God how different things were in the late 70's and early 80's, compared to now.

Awww, memories.....

The Hooters have a new album out I think.. in fact I thought I saw it the other day at Wal-Mart but not sure.

Something with Time Standing Still or something, but they indeed have a new album.

Edit: I looked it up and yeah they had a new album out in '07 and '08. They toured in Europe this past year.

Yep, I miss drive-in theaters. One of the first movies I saw as a kid at a drive-in was Trog with Joan Crawford. What a freaky movie!! LOL

I remember 5-6 around a 5 mile radius. In the 70's-80's in came the theaters. Also in the 60's it was not backseat Mustangs, but '57 chevs and '60 olds convertibles. Heh!!

Out here we have Bengies Drive-In. My husband and I had our second date there watching a double feature of Fright Night and The Legend Of Billie Jean. They still show the old classic intermission commercials like this one, too. Lots of great memories from that place...and the movies were nice, too!  :D

I loved the drive-in! We had one just a few miles away when I was growing up. It was fun to go in our jammies when we were young kids, and the partying with friends was fun when I was a teenager. (For you Chicago-area peeps, I went to the one by Palwaukee Airport; aka "Chicago Executive Airport" now.) It's too bad that most of the drive-ins within 50 miles of me have closed. It isn't worth driving that far to see a movie.

I had an old Chevy with a huge trunk All my buddies would pile in it and we would go to the Drive in Once we got inside I would open the trunk and the party would start. Great times.
