In 2005 i went to see Judas Priest live in Monsters of Rock..the band sound awful that rainy night specially Rob Halford, i though they were done at that point; last year they come again to my country, i went to see them sure that maybe it was a lost of my money but they did an awesome show and Halford did a great performance too...Arnel didn't sing as good as we are used to hear him in superbowl, but he is an amazing singer, with a fantastic vocal range....he seem to me very aware of what he want to give to the Journey audience, have a humble way to say it, and that add points to his statements in that vid...i don't have any doubts that he with Journey will make kick ass shows again

Journey is supposed to perform in Hawaii at the Waikoloa Bowl on March 19th, hopefully there will be some decent footage from Maui Tom or anyone going to the show.

In my opinion...I've got to go with Deano on this one.

You really think he sounded like shit? I don't. He sounded good to me. I agree that his accent was more pronounced, but other than that, just fine. You and Deano are entitled to your own opinions though.

Yeah I really do. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against AP. I think he's got a great voice. But his performance sucked that night. It happens...

I wish Arnel hadn't mentioned detractors in that clip.
Dude, you're a rock star, don't acknowledge that shit. There is no conspiracy out there to get you. Stop worrying about it. The Steve Perry Illuminati only exists in the minds of your loons.

Difference being you will likely never see Halford apologising for an off night. Nor should he.

I haven't see this. Bummer for him.
I think he should probably not've commented on it. Things happen.
I also saw some other clips from the superbowl and Separate Ways seemed to be worse, but it was tough to hear because of the people singing in the audience. Also- the crowd looked extremely bored. Hard to get that extra kick of adrenaline when the crowd's asleep. Still, a pro rises above that.
Arnel had a bad day. When I saw him last year, I was completely BLOWN AWAY by the guy in a way that a male singer hasn't blown me away since Perry and I was in the Front Row.
The guy was brilliant that night. Superbowl show... not many bands sound good on live TV. That's why so many of them lipsynch. I know what I saw and heard last year and I stand by Arnel. The little basta*d kicks ass.

Wonder how the conversation went with him and MrNealSchon.

All singers have good and bad nights. The nature of your vocals. Sometimes the darn things don't cooperate! Cut Arnel some slack folks, even though I love Perry's voice, I have heard some not so great performances due to overwork, tired, sick etc................. :D

The reason he is not being cut much slack is due to the importance of the event to the band and the fact that he blew out his voice on a mini solo 'tour' instead of getting the vocal rest he claimed he needed which resulted in Journey's own tour being cut short. To add insult to injury he sang at a non Journey concert the night before the Super Bowl event and then flew in on the day leaving no rehearsal time with Journey. He basically wasn't acclimatised, got sick and limped through the performance like a flacid dick.

It was definitely a low point.

I want Lock'nLoad to chime in with his opinion on what happened.
