It's interesting that you should say that, because I remember reading in an interview that Steve Perry has their whole catalogue and really likes what they do.

yup, and Steve Augeri LOVES U2.

Agreed 100%. Bruce won rock song of the year with Girls in their Summer Clothes so I am pumped. Carrie is definitely good.

AMEN!! TOO MUCH OF A JESUS COMPLEX. And, Stevie Wonder. What was he thinking? Onstage with the Jonas Brothers? Those untalented lolly tripes of teenage hoodlums. Not only is the broither blind, but he must now be deaf too...

Miley Cyrus? Cannot SING!!! Neither can Taylor Swift. Though I do like her albums.

If raising millions for relief efforts globally is considered a "Jesus complex", I wish this was a contagious disease.

I agree. I used to hate Bono, but man, he is a great person. Mad props to him and what he accomplishes.

Blasphemy, now go write Bono is Arnel's Irish sugar daddy 100 times.

Exactly. What has this forum come to when we've got people dissing U2 and promoting taylor Swift?

That song was eligible? Wasn't Magic 2007? Was it a single in early 08 or something? I guess I'm pretty ignorant to the way these awards work.

BTW, I listened through Dream four times since I picked it up last night (had to do some serious driving today). It's an excellent album. The standout songs aren't as good as the standouts on Magic, but Dream is more cohesive and consistent. Kingdom of Days is my favorite right now. Brings me back to the Streets of Philadelphia days

I wouldn't be surprised. Artists usually tend to want to hear the polar opposite of what they're doing. And they are really the opposite of SP.

I've heard he likes Nirvana, too. I say, vomitbag, but he must dig seeing how the other side lives.

Manilow... are you for real! Dude that guy is scary!

I do have to agree with you on Nirvana. I just never got it as far as they were concerned. I much preferred Sound Garden or Pearl Jam.

Agreed, and also surprised by Justin, his song with the Rev. Al Green was very entertaining.

Was also pleasantly surprised by the Jonas Bros. Their song with Stevie Wonder was really cool.

best performance of the night belongs to U2. every year those guys should lead off the grammys, play the half-time show at the superbowl and sing the star spangled banner every night at the stanley cup finals.

worst performance was that very pregnant lady dancing and singing. what the hell was that?

What I tell you asshole? Excellent cd. You'll all see this CD at next years Grammies. IMO, it will be the big winner, it's that good.
Watch Andrew give it a 79 or some shit like that. Androo doesn't like Bruce and he is a fool for that too.

Agreed. U2 is phenomenal and Bono is a super great human being. I like how t he people who disagree with you are Neal fans  Neal is a piece of shit and Bono is a world changer. I will say as good as Bono is, he ain't Bruce. Not quite- close but not quite.

Well, Magic was probably a more accessible CD for an average melodic rocker 'round these parts. We'll see.

Cum guzzler, I already said it's a stronger album. BUT, Magic was more of a "melodic rock" album to my ears. Thus, it probably will appeal more to Drew and probably many of the people who mainly listen to MR around here.

I can see myself listening to Dream straight through a lot. Magic only got a few straight play throughs. Now I'll just throw on the songs I wanna hear from that one.

Usually I like Carrie's voice (not necessarily her songs), but she seemed to be yelling to be heard over the rest of the music and I could barely understand a word.
Is it just me or was a lot of tape happening for most of the performances? Some of the groups reminded me of "Air Band" competitions in highschool.

Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo
The spread she did for playboy was beautiful. She also appears to be quite the singer. This was her second nomination and first win.

"There's a reason why Rihanna and Chris Brown were NOT at the Grammys on Sunday night..

Chris Brown is being investigated for allegedly assaulting Rihanna after the Clive Davis pre-Grammys tribute event on Saturday night.

According to an LAPD report, cops arrived at the scene early Sunday morning - around 12:30 A.M. - after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance.

A woman, who insiders name as Rihanna, was found with visible injuries and identified Chris Brown as her attacker.

The 'victim' revealed they were arguing in the car, which escalated when they stopped.

Chris had reportedly already peaced out when authorities arrived.

Brown turned himself in to police around 6:30 P.M. on Sunday. He was officially booked at 7:41 p.m. for making criminal threats.

Brown posted $50,000 bail and was released. "
