Not my kind of music, at all. The production and the musicianship associated with it are top notch though.

Five years ago, if you would have told me that Robert Plant (without Zeppelin) and Tia Carrere would be future Grammy Award winners, I wouldn't have believed it. Neither album is my cup of tea but it's great they each won for something that was different instead of the usual drivel.

Kind of my impression as well, sounded great but something that would be played as dinner music or at a wine bar.

The grammies are still kind of a joke, but Raising Sand is easily one of the best records of the decade. It sounds nothing like anything Plant or Krauss had done previously, and managed to sound like something completely new despite consisting entirely of old songs.

If you can find it, get the vinyl version...trust me. It sounds like a million bucks.

I have the disc, I listened to it, again and again. I really tried to like it but just couldn't. Maybe it is great music for the genre that it falls into but I don't care for it. I am glad that Robert has finally got a grammy to take home, he certainly deserved it well before this.

Me and the wife watched the Plant/Krauss Crossroads Concert from Chicago, Sat night on Palladia Channel in HD. The sound was awesome, the singing/playing was awesome, but it just bored us both to tears after 15 minutes. They ruined to the 10th degree Black Dog. Awful to my ears.

After that Palladia showed Plant with his last band, Strange Sensation from 2006. The sound was awesome, singing and playing were awesome, and I wasn't bored because it ROCKED!

I gave Raising Sand a listen when it first came out and just couldn't see buying it. Not my style.

i have the cd, the crossroads special from cmt and saw their ny show last year and was blown away by all of it. definitely an acquired taste. but if you're a fan of plant, i recommend it highly.

I enjoyed their bit. Like most of the tunes on their album.

I'm a Plant fan, but I don't know if I could sit through an entire concert of their new stuff. I know they do some re-worked Zeppelin tunes, but the vibe is just too much of a snoozefest for me. That said, I'm glad he got all those Grammy awards. Unfortunately, all the old, innovative rockers are falling by the wayside, one by one.
