In 2005 i went to see Judas Priest live in Monsters of Rock..the band sound awful that rainy night specially Rob Halford, i though they were done at that point; last year they come again to my country, i went to see them sure that maybe it was a lost of my money but they did an awesome show and Halford did a great performance too...Arnel didn't sing as good as we are used to hear him in superbowl, but he is an amazing singer, with a fantastic vocal range....he seem to me very aware of what he want to give to the Journey audience, have a humble way to say it, and that add points to his statements in that vid...i don't have any doubts that he with Journey will make kick ass shows again
Difference being you will likely never see Halford apologising for an off night. Nor should he.
Rise above and move on.
All singers have good and bad nights. The nature of your vocals. Sometimes the darn things don't cooperate! Cut Arnel some slack folks, even though I love Perry's voice, I have heard some not so great performances due to overwork, tired, sick etc.................
The reason he is not being cut much slack is due to the importance of the event to the band and the fact that he blew out his voice on a mini solo 'tour' instead of getting the vocal rest he claimed he needed which resulted in Journey's own tour being cut short.
well, who's not cutting him slack? I haven't heard anything from the band at all. Also, I wasn't aware Journey's tour was cut short. I thought he did all the shows, did he not?
I was refering to bloggers cutting him slack, not the band. But doing so is optional......

FF what was that allegory, a flacid what?
