Hers a warning kids - do not pass the design of your MySpace and new website to a hot chick just because you fancy them! Not saying that happened or anything but...wow!

Also, Deen totally stole Soto's look -

Anyway, fingers crossed the website turns out great.

The last time they closed the forums a lead singer change was made. Is something similar on the horizon?

Ah... The imaginations here are just wild! Gotta love it!

Who can really say for sure with Journey? The only thing predictable about the band these days is their concert setlist!

The Rumor is that they've brought in Steve Perry to remaster the re-records and will sell them as a stand alone package at Amazon Market Place. The Initial price will be $3.99 but there will be a mail-in rebate form for $5 in cash or a $10 credit towards Journey's original Sony/BMG Greatest Hits package.

Maybe they can just dump their forums all together on the new site. Or maybe you'll have to pass a written test, administered in tagalog, to gain entry.
Well, if it's a total revamp, at least every one will start at zero, post wise. It will be fun to see what kind of bullshit threads get started just so people can increase their post counts again.

I'm glad to see they are setting up a new website - if they're making the effort, hopefully that means it will be updated more often too.

I'm hearing suggestions that those running the site before will no longer be involved. That's a big shake up...

No forum? well, you know... I can't say that I will losing any sleep over this. A couple years ago, it was very bad. I remember during the SA years, if you EVEN posted a Steve Perry thread there, you get the eye rolling remarks from the regular wigglers, and all sorts of problems from there, they would call you a troll, blah blah. And I know what is allowed and what isn't allowed, and what is considered rude and what isn't. But I tell you, if that whole forum there ceased to exist, I will still sleep like a baby.

No, there were UK moderators but mods weren't running the site, just Argus (CJ) and her husband.

And I'm also betting there won't be a forum.

I would agree with that. They have never really passed a torch between the singers and there is so much acrimony between loons. If you ban discussion around any of the singers you alienate those fans. It's just a no win situation to have a forum.

For about a week, and then half of them will migrate to that other place. Notice how threads from here get picked up and put on other sites as original with no acknowledgement of where they came from. No creativity, just retreads.

MR is stil the place to be. People may complain about it here but they can't help themselves from coming by, if only to read what's being said.

I don't see any need to use this as an excuse to complain about the forum (now that its gone) and especialyl CJ, who I respect. She was only doing the job given to her.

Other than keeping the site current, does anyone have any suggestions for how they should improve and redesign the site? You know, just in case anyone from the Journey camp actually reads this stuff...

Mark & CJ are good people. Been part of the Journey family for years. Who knows what's going on. ?

That fanbase is more like superficial...shallow at best. Admire the passion, but a little too much 'Tiger Beat' for me.

Just create a forum for each individual singer. Or have no forums at all.

If you want to see what the new site will look like, I'd suggest looking at The Eagles website, as that's probably the diretion it's headed - professional, impersonal and merchandise oriented.

I'd like to thank Carolyn (CJ) and Mark for all the work they did running the forum for many years. It may not have been to everybody's taste, and was certainly a different flavour to here, but that's more to do with some of its 'residents' than the people who ran it. Carolyn and her husband always applied honesty, integrity and fairness, when they were allowed to.
