Great interview, Andrew.....

SA seems a whole hell more sincere and genuine than the rest of the guys in Journey....Taking the high road is a virtue. Walks a fine line as far as finger-pointing.. Gotta love that.

Can't really get into the new album, but SA is the shit.... :D

Great interview and tried to give an honest assessment of those days with Journey. I'm glad to see him in such a great place after having such a tough time emotionally and vocally.

Thanks Andrew, that was certainly an enjoyable read. Everyone else has pretty much summed up what I think about the guy. Hopefully good things continue to happen to him.

never disappointed in your interviews, andrew 8) .

i might be reaching, but in reading between the lines there was some telling stuff about the whole journey bs facade. unlike his former band mates, steve appears to take responsibility for the fraudulent actions. i'm happy he has moved on to a better healthier place. if he comes my way i'll be there to cheer him on. the best to him always.

Don't you people feel bad how you treated him and calling him slanderous names.

Thank god, I've been consistent, per usual, and never bashed the man and even stuck up for him. This is a good person. They all are.

Fantastic job, Andrew, You pulled the best out of Mr. Augeri!!
What a terrific human he seems to be....there were a couple of moments that
I wanted to cry for him, but that man
seems to have such an enormous resolve that you just end up
cheering him on!!! Kudos to Steve Augeri!!!

Overall a great interview. I felt like Steve still held back on some things...probably out of neccesity (maybe even legality). I also thought he might have slipped up one time and then covered his tracks and played it off a little. But maybe that is because I would love to sit down and seriously chat with the man off the record. I know it ain't ever gonna happen but Hey, a boy can dream.

Still, I am very happy for Steve and Lydia. He definatley came out of a difficult situation with the right outlook on life. This is the silver linig for Steve!!

Great interview, SA is clearly a class act.

Also think the new TS album with its retro sounds is sounding great.

What a great interview - now I have to get the CD (been SO out of touch...ugh!)

Deb, I nearly fainted for you when I saw the Eric Martin reference! LOLOL! :D :D :D

Have been one of the "I don't want to know" fans when Steve started out, to absolutely loving the guy, it's been quite a ride for him and I'm thrilled he's got it together. He sounds, strong, healthy and happy.

Now, Steve, get your butt in there and start the solo album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Interesting interview. In spite of his lip-syncing, the guy comes across as a very sympathetic figure. His comments about the non-stop touring were fairly conistent with what burned Perry out. He's definitely correct that he should have simply told Neal that his instrument was a bit different from Neal's (a point Schon will NEVER understand and continues to prove)! I always liked Augeri on "Arrival" and actually thought he was borderline superb. Having said that, the poor guy simply wasn't cut out to sing the back catalog from day one, and I'm still amazed that he held out as long as he did. At the end of the day, he still comes across as a VERY likeable guy with a tremendous amount of humility. Tough to disrespect a guy who takes the high road. Perhaps Neal could learn a thing or two from Augeri.

The lip syncing was a team effort, from Azoff down. Even though the rest of the band may deny liability, they all fail on that issue, not just Augeri. After all, they claimed they were a "band of brothers", so culpability has to be shared equally.
