true, I put the blame more on the band than SA. I think if Andrew wouldve brought it up maybe it would have looked like something like this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------
So, tell me , how and when was the idea of using "recorded vocals" born and by whom!?

Um,,,

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Yeah pity his singing voice isn't as pleasant as his listening voice!

Just really makes me mad the band would do that to him. WHY!!! They had JSS on hold so why didn't just move him on in. I don't know how SA can not just give them a piece of his mind for all the embarrassment he endured!! Just again shows what a wonderful person he is because I certainly would not be that way after all the crap that hit the fan!!

Go SA!!!Best of luck to you!!!

None of us were at the band meeting where the solution was discussed to determine blame, so why try? Point is, it happened regardless of who fought for it most/against it most and everyone had egg on their face as a result.

The part about not having the backbone to get off the train sounded exactly like what Perry had to do.

Actually I thought alot of it sounded like what PERRY had to do. It was all about the money and they just were relentless in touring which in the end caused them to lose a ton more money compared to what they could have done touring with much fewer dates. A person HAS to have a life outside the band or they will not be able to continue for long. I don't know how Perry did it so long but damn it I wish he would one more time!! I am sure he misses performing, how could he not!!

One phone call and Neal would be running to Perry's house eating out of the palm of his hand. I too will hold on to HOPE!!

I was thinking the same thing. Ultimately, the band went on without both of them. But, SP certainly was in a much more powerful position to flex his muscles so to speak than Augeri ever would have been. That said, SA seems at peace with his time in the band and with where he wants to take his career at this point. Good for him. The one questions Andrew didn't ask was if he has talked to any of the Journey guys since then. He asked about whether he was asked back after JSS "left" but nothing more specific. I am guessing he hasn't, but was just curious.

Augeri is all class. His leaving the band was more tragic than Perry's IMO.

Putting on my flame resistant suit now... :o

Good one. I am curious to know if SA talks to the band as well but probably not. JSS does not right? Isn't there a lawsuit going on with JSS?

I think even Brian May of Queen can be added to the list of people who deleted Neal from their contact list. Apparently he was another person that was not enamored with the way the JSS episode reached it's conclusion.

Aw don't you start with me, woman!
I agree because Perry's leaving and Augeri's were similar, but Augeri's seemed more unfortunate. More untimely. If that makes any sense.

Put away the friggin rolling pin, Ma. :D

Absolutely.

The interview was fantastic and Augeri continues to solidify his reputation as a great man.

Anyone else think he looks pretty damn young for fifty?

He makes up for it with a vibrant personality.

Arnel and Perry look great for their respective ages, though they can thank their heritage for a great deal of it, I'd imagine. All things considered, Cain or Augeri impress me the most.

Least now we know that he wasn't contacted after JSS left the band. I had always heard that they contacted him, but he said no.

One of the best interviews, ever. Great stuff Andrew. Subjects were touched on and discussed absolutely appropriately I think. Augeri seems like a well grounded, smart and likable guy. I wish him nothing but the best.

Everyone already got the admission from Journey camp that Tapegate happened.

The admission came when the band entered the stage after Augeri was let go to "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who.
