I agree.

The interview was truly great and long overdue.

Everybody needs to check out Skyscraper. I love the heavier direction that quite a few of the songs have without losing their catchiness.

But less tragic than Soto's....

In your case, you need to wear that inside out, so it protects the rest of us from your flaming , you flamer you !

I love that so many people are now seeing him for the person we have always known him to be.

The people that crucified him should be ashamed of themselves.

The people who crucified him but still kept faith with the rest of the band should be the one's ashamed. To think some one could be on tape without the other members having no clue, especially guys who have been in the game for so long and know all the tricks of the trade, that is just denial to the 10th degree.

That's who I meant. The people who said such hateful, vile things about him. And then gave everyone else a free pass.

And even at that.....the things that were said about SA shouldn't have been said period. They were just truly vicious. I have my thoughts on the kind of person NS is. But I wouldn't post such hateful things on a message board. But that's just me.

Great interview, Andrew! Kuddos on a job well done!

Steve Agueri is truly an awesome entertainer and a wonderful person, husband, father and someone our kids can look to as a role model.

He always takes the high-road...love that.

And he's the ultimate family man - his love for Lydia, Adam & all his family shines through...we can all take a lesson from that...life is short.

AND, the new Tall Stories CD totally rocks...love Superman! WTG, Steve, it's your time..let's rock!

I honestly have never seen a single person say anything so horrible about Augeri. He seems to be one of the more universally liked guys on the planet. The only things I read upon Augeri departing Journey was that he wasn't singing live. Those accusations were proven to be valid. While I agree with the sentiment that the entire band is absolutely culpable for the lip syncing fiasco, Augeri was part of the fraud perpetrated on paying fans. That doesn't make Augeri the devil incarnate. It simply means that he (and the rest of the band) used VERY poor judgement. I'm genuinely happy for the guy that he seems to have landed on his feet. I'd personally pay to listen to Augeri sing...Just not Journey music.

Me too Larry...I love that album. I think it was quite a departure (pun intended) for Journey with the ballads and Bad English sounding tunes...but it was a great album either way! I think they could have left off a ballad, and thrown in "Remember Me"...would've been even better!

Yeah, I'm Not That Way was on the Japanese release. Have A Good Time was apparently from the Arrival sessions and was played live a couple of times, but never saw the light of day again. And World Gone Wild, along with Nothin' Comes Close, originally weren't supposed to be on the version of Arrival that hit the stores. But, in maybe the only good thing that came from Arrival being leaked on Napster, fan feedback said that the album was too ballad heavy so Journey added WGW and NCC to Arrival in time for the United States release.

No problem man. I was pretty sure that I'm Not That Way was the only bonus track for Arrival, but wanted to make sure. I've been listening to Arrival a lot lately and didn't want to miss out on any songs that I didn't have. What a good album. Still fresh 8 years later. Steve Augeri's finest work with Journey. Give me Higher Place, Livin' To Do, To Be Alive Again and We Will Meet Again any day of the week.

I believe Andrew's rightfully underwhelmed review of the first version of Arrival was also a huge factor.
Unless I'm mistaken, I think it was even cause for Neal to reach out to Andrew and agree.

I love I'm Not That Way. Saying it's Augeri's finest work with Journey short-changes the album. It's one of Journey's finest, even with all the ballads. Signs of Life, Higher Place, and To Be Alive Again are three of Journey's best ever for my money. Livin' To Do is great as well, but it's more of a "deep track" than a readily accessible pop/rocker like the former three.

No kidding. I wasn't around when Arrival was released (I was 13 years old), so a lot of what I know I've learned from here. I knew that fans said the album relied too much on ballads, but I didn't realize that Andrew's review was one of the catalysts for the additions of World Gone Wild and Nothin' Comes Close.

You're probably right, unfortunately. Higher Place should be a permanent member of the Dirty Dozen, and We Will Meet Again could close all concerts. I can envision a great video montage that could play during We Will Meet Again, and the band could slowly fade out at the end of the song until it's just Deen left on stage pounding away on the drums until the stage goes dark.

Livin' To Do is great as well, but it's more of a "deep track" than a readily accessible pop/rocker like the former three.

Very good point. I'll agree with you. I rank Arrival in my top three favorite Journey albums, higher than Revelation. I wish more people were aware of Arrival and more of it was played live.

Sadly, I don't think a single Arrival song will ever see the light of day on a stage again. Sucks :(

It'd beat Lovin, Touchin, Shittin for the 10000000000000000th time (were they closing with that on the AP tour? I can't even remember). Either way, it's a shitty closer.

Yep, when I saw them in Indianapolis and Chicago in September the one and only encore song both times was Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. Unfortunately, the crowd loved it, otherwise they might consider not putting it in the encore slot. Any Way You Want It closed the main set in Indy and Be Good To Yourself closed the main set in Chicago. I wish they had ended the concert with either of those.
