Very.

What do you make of this? Is he just moving on to something else?

I remember you telling us that Elson said that you can have a career-spanning interview once he's retired (I think you said this at least).

Kevin and I had an interview date planned which was cancelled on the very morning of the interview....the day after tapegate broke.

 That's some crazy timing.

Make of it what you will...but it wasn't me that cancelled.

I wouldn't be too sure just yet of that not happening. Those video guys in Japan would be just itching to get that film job.

Seen some great DVDs out of Japan... Mr. Big and TMG especially.

Agreed! And great to hear they're filming another one at Budakon in June for their 20th Anniversary.....can't wait to add that one too! :D They love Mr Big and EM over there......his Mr. Vocalist cd did so well, he did a Mr. Vocalist 2. :)

LOL, I am so living in the wrong place for great rock music shows.......great place if you're into country music, but alas, I'm NOT.

Wait.
Elson's not the sound engineer at concerts anymore?

That's what it sounds like, according to Kevin Shirley's latest news update. Looks like it's a guy named James McCullagh.

- Better sound quality; Arnel front-and-center but the backing vocals need to be cranked up as well. Revelation screwed the pootch with both the CD and DVD when it came to backing vocals and they're Journey staples. Get it right.
- Better video quality (the camera shots weren't shitty, but they were poor relative to Arrival).
- An intro. When I saw Journey in Nashville this year, they came out to AC/DC's "Back In Black" on the video screens and the crowd went fucknuts. It would be a great way to demonstrate the hype and intensity of the crowd before they ultimately get silenced for the performance.
- Extras?

Best of all, I'd like to see five Revelation songs. [/list]

Damn right. All 28,000 people in Chicago exploded when Back In Black started and Journey was on the video board getting hyped backstage before the show. It was crazy how loud the place got. Not an empty chair in the house. I'd love to see that on a DVD.

I hope they're not as sedate in the Philippines like they've been on some of those TV shows Arnel was on. I know the Plokkers will go nuts at the concert, but I don't know how Filipino audiences are, in general, at rock concerts compared to the U.S. You can see in Japan how much quieter they are. I'm sure somebody here can answer that question, like SH or GB. Of course, there will be a lot of pride for Arnel there, and, hopefully, that shows in audience response.

Comparing the concerts i've been to back home with the youtube clips that I saw from rock concerts in the states, I don't think we rock as hard as the Americans. One thing that I remember really well was when I saw Wolfgang (A Pinoy Heavy Metal band) in the late 90s. I do find it odd now that we were just seated there watching the band play. Maybe it will be different this time.

Fingers crossed...
