Curious, how so? SP left of his own accord after the band gave him plenty of time to return. They wanted to work, he didn't. What's the problem?
SA had to leave due to medical issues with his throat? Again, how did Schon fuck him over?
JSS had little tenure and the band decided that was not the direction they were going. So it didn't work out. How again did Friga and Schon fuck them over? I don't see it this way.
As far as JSS goes...it was completely wrong the way he was "let go". If they changed their minds about him being their singer....well ok.....but to have to hear about it the way he did. There is no excuse for how that was handled..absolutely none.

On this one point, i don't think people are saying that it wasn't so much about him being the right fit, the issue is the way it was done.
I'll use an analogy. Say while on leave of absence from your job, you get a call a to fill in as a temp, you show up and do such a great job, the company hires you. You take your drug test, your name is in the system at H.R., all is good. You go ahead and finish up your two weeks with your previous employer. Done, you're flying back and at the airport hear from some one else in the business that you've been fired. No phone call from the company or nothing, even though they knew you were giving notice at your other job. No phone call to say, "Wait, we made a mistake", nothing but the embarrassment of being told by someone else who isn't even the band that you've been axed.
This is not about who was a better singer, Arnel or JSS. This is about how you treat people. This isn't even about paying a ticket for a concert , thinking it was live and finding out you paid for a lipsynced performance with no chance of getting your money back.
I understand that a lot of new fans think the world of Schon and Cain for giving Arnel a chance. But that doesn't change what they have done in the past. You can't say they are decent people based on their treatment of Arnel, you have to see the whole picture. JSS and Augeri have been candid and honest about what went down but you never hear anything from the band. The last thing I Remember reading from Neal was "Fuck him" when speaking of Perry. Augeri was not asked back after his throat healed. The band of brothers didn't even check on him.
We've seen the colors of this tiger and if happens to Arnel, don't say you didn't see it coming. Journey's 2006 tour was #15 in moneymaking, and that didn't help the previous singers at all. Arnel might have helped them sell some albums but if he slips one more time or causes them to cancel out tour dates like they had to last winter, you just never know what might happen.

I think Jeff Scott Soto's dismissal was handled extremely poorly and showed lack of character by the band, especially on Neal's part b/c they had been in a previous band together and were friends. But as far as Steve Augeri, to me his voice was not able to handle the catalogue for years, so not asking him back I understand. At his age, his voice couldn't handle it. I think Neal and Jon stayed with him for many years even as his voice wasn't at its best, so so much for getting rid of singers at the drop of a hat. That just didn't happen with Steve Augeri. But it could definitely be argued they took advantage of Steve A. in overtouring, but, on the other hand, he went along with it.

While we are on a I remember a time theme..........

I remember a time:
when Journey fans were united in supporting the band.
the Journey Force was the source for what was the scoop on the guys.
when no one hated any member of the band.
when the biggest debates were where they were playing, and could you get there.
when the fans were like a family, long letters, and phone calls.
when we shared articles from newspapers, photos, and concert paraphanailia.
when it was so much fun, you could not wait for a new album, or newsletter.
of great contests for great stuff came around, how hard it was to win, everyone knew lyrics, etc!

I miss those days.   They were so incredible. And The Fan Asylum crew were great with orders, tickets, and just great personal service. I wish some of the younger fans could have been a part of it. Ticket master sucks.

I also remember a time when Journey...I'm sorry...now Juhnee... fucked their fans over for the last time, that the fans finally said "fuck you".

Lip-synced shows (which Schon had "no IDEA" of), Fucking JSS over royally while he was in the UK doing a farewell tour 'cause he was going to be with Journey, having Jeremey come for an audition (and I'm not going to get into this one..), then hiring a guy that, I will admit, has a good voice, but can't pronounce the fucking words. Whatever you hear on Revelation has a SHIT TON of studio magic put into it. And if you listen to him live, you'll see what I mean. Y'all can have your Juhnee, and live in the sad present. I'll stick with the past when it comes to these fuckers.

I understand. Your pretty angry. I guess with me it is their fight. I was not there, I am not one of them, and I make a poor monday night quarterback. In retrospect we don't know how they feel about things said or done. I see them as human, that's all. :D I don't expect them to be anything but that.

I'm actually not pissed at the band anymore3, I'm more pissed at the people who said "I'll never give Journey another dime of my money", then turn around and do the opposite. And the FIGHT me, because they know I'm right.

The last two sold out concerts I was at last summer, the fans were chanting na-na-na-na-na, not fuck you. 8)

That was just dumb. Do you HONESTLY THINK that most of the people there KNEW who the singer was?? They were probably saying "He sounds good, but why is he saying Haw We tooch ann ween ar sepate wais".

They did.

And what they said was that the thousands of fans were cheering along with Arnel. So regardless of the possible accent issues, they were obviously pleased.

Maybe they changed their minds, who knows...... :D I know I have met Jon, and hardly see a jerk in him. I only saw a nice guy, who went out of his way to be nice to me.......a total stranger. He was kind in his words, and I can spot a phony person when they speak to me. Being someone who has made mistakes in my life, in dealing with friends, etc, I know you can regret things you say and do. I know some hate him. But I can't. And I can't hate Steve, Neal or anyone else.

Case in point I had a professor in College in the 80's that was so cruel and mean I dropped out of college.
When I went back to school three years ago, guess who I had to take several times before I graduated........yup the mean professor!
But he had changed.........he was nicer, we started talking, and became friends. He is one of my favorite mentors, and I asked him to sponsor me in my senior show. I could have chosen any professor, but I wanted him to judge my show.

People are just that, musicians are just people, human, frail, with feet of clay. :)

Because a lot of people on this site (and elsewhere) depict these assholes as saints. They're douchebags. And this coming from a guy who HAD tremendous respect for Neal's guitar playing, and what Friga brought to the band with Escape - Arrival. Now, it's all just stale bullshit. YES, YOU HEARD ME JOURNEY, BULLSHIT. Get Perry back, do a farewell tour, and then call it quits with Journey.

While Steveo's accusation may or may not be true, the idea that his post count has anything to do with it makes a sort of sense that... well... doesn't.

LMAO... Liam is killing me... (and I suspect Andrew too :) )...

I'm struggling to remember the last time the band listened to its fans... anybody?
