This is just one that I like - "My Sharona": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNL64v8hQIU I remember years ago seeing an Oprah episode with the real Sharona and other ladies talking about the songs that they inspired. Sharona didn't seem thrilled about the song.

And, I've always loved this one: "Love grows where my Rosemary goes": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr6H1a7YUac

Haven't encountered any with mine in it, but this popular one goes by with a reference to a personally relevant year:

Your name is Banana?
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

RHIANNON
(by Jed O'Connor/Jed Silverstar copyright 1981)

White mare in a silver caparison,
Mane blowing like thistledown snow,
Bears one to the land of a fairer sun;
To Anwyn Rhiannon would go.

Rhiannon Blooms to her beauty rise,
Greening fern grows,
Early night's purple skies
Burn into rose.

In moonlight she rides a white mare,
And silver birds perch in her hair.
Dark skylarks surround her in song.
Rhiannon, she rides to the dawn.
Rhiannon.

Frost falling from forests of evergreen,
Streams brimming with crystalline dew,
Shed beauty on waters once never seen;
Spring welcomes Rhiannon anew.

Rhiannon Blooms to her beauty rise,
Greening fern grows,
Early night's purple skies
Burn into rose.

In moonlight she rides a white mare,
And silver birds perch in her hair.
Dark skylarks surround her in song.
Rhiannon, she rides to the dawn.
Rhiannon.

Cool thanks Tammy! I haven't heard that one before. Here's one my Dad always sang to me... Tommy Dorsey was No. 1 with it in 1937 and The Bachelors made it to No. 15 on the Billboard charts with it in 1965, the year I was born. (Though I was actually named after my Grandmother)

I am both impressed and irritated in equal measure. American neo-Pagan or "Celtic" musician, right? That little furphy drives me crazy! The word they want is Annwn, not Anwyn and it pisses me off every time I see it. It's kind of the equivalent of someone saying Hell and Helen are the same name.
