Alright, who went on Journey's new website and put up a 'Friga Profile' that says "Friga misses Stevew very badly" in the status update?

I looked over the new Journey website and it was a complete disappointment - it gets a failing grade from me as well. The only improvement is that there is an update in style from the old one, but overall the design is quite awful. What is with all of that feminine lavender-purple and the floral scrolls throughout? All of the text is utter garbage, not only in terms of grammar and spelling, but in general content. Who the bloody hell wrote those bios and the discography descriptions?! When I read them I thought SteveW had a new gig as an editor for the website

Perhaps the most infuriating thing was the complete lack of respect Journey shows for its own legacy and history. They keep saying that they are honouring Steve Perry's legacy with Journey by continuing with a singer who mimics his vocals, but based on the new website, they barely acknowledge his existence. There are a few comments about him in the discography and some earlier pictures of the band in the media section, but that's it. So it seems the "honouring the legacy" commentary is simply more sunshine up our kilts. This band has been in existence for 36 years and they just ignored 34 of them. What about all of the former members, or even founding members like Gregg Rolie? At least SP hasn't been taken off the MySpace page (yet), but what is with all of that purple over there too? I usually like that colour (it's also pretty as an eyeshadow), but hellooo...

Whoever was in charge of this mess did not know what they were doing and if it is Neal's GF, I'm sorry, but that simply demonstrates why you hire a professional design firm and leave girlfriends out of the business decisions. A garage band hires friends because they cannot afford professionals - Journey could have and should have done better. The most basic errors should never have gotten past editing and made it to the site, but overall the design of the site does not reflect a rock band like Journey. I don't know if it was the band or management who had the final word in terms of what they wanted to accomplish with the new site, but if it was to completely PO their pre-Arnel fans, they have certainly succeeded. For Journey information and history, I guess there is always Wikipedia.

This is embarrassing. The bios are FULL of typos and messed up sentences. What folly. This is/was one of the greatest rock bands in the world. Beautiful music/thoughtful lyrics. Neal, who talked y'all into all the black leather? It reminds me of Fonzi and the gang from Happy Days. I hate being negative--it makes me feel disloyal-- but this makes this glorious band look amateurish and, well, cheapish and tacky. You see Lori's name several times on the page and when you click on the link, you go right to her MySpace page with her trying to sell her music. Did Herbie give you any advice? Probably not. This and the economy, what a bummer, lol!!

I don't know who did the bios, but they must know English as a second language. Absolutely laughable.

Nice job they did on those bio photos (especially of Ross). Either they were all touched up, or they got a group discount on Botox! ....and what's up with all the black leather? Is Neal trying to get the Rob Halford look???? They are one step away from cartoon characters at this point. Even Arnel looks like he wants to Kung Fu somebody's ass. Trying to turn guys with receding hairlines and wrinkles into tough guys is a hard sell when you hear them play Friga's syrupy ballads. This band is as directionless as ever, in all aspects.

As far as the band not showing their deep history.....they want to bury it, unless it scores them a Walmart deal.

It's sort of got a shoutbox instead of a forum, you just need to throw shit and see if it sticks.

I'm confused. So if there is going to be no forum, what are you supposed to do on Journey Music? Just go to different members' blogs or look at that little remark section where a lot of uninteresting comments are made?

I checked it out, and right away I was like cool! New designs, cool pics, this site is rockin'. Then, I scrolled down, and started clickin after I put some "Journey/Myspace" stuff up. I read everything and it is just MAAAAAD BAAAAD. Those bio's are hysterical. Someone needs to find their child Image and put him back in their play-pen, or at least wait until he/she hits second grade to start writing biographies on an official web site for a legendary band after talking the same very site up for a re-launch.

This literally pissed me off and serves Journey no justice whatsoever. "Never Walk Again" was referred to as "Never Walk Away." Holy shit! This HAS to be some kind of joke, and this all needs to be postponed until April 1st. Holy shit is the whole thing bad. Myspace things cool though, I think.
