:::yawn:::

For me, there is nothing more boring than a tour with REO on it (especially if they're not the opener, so that I can plan to arrive late). :?

I remember in '87 when this came out. It was cool to hear them have a decent hit

That Ain't Love

And in '90 they had this one. Here's a live version. Not too bad back then.

Too bad those days are gone. I've bought their last two cds but have no desire to see them as well.

Cool tour overall, however I'm kind of bored with Styx and REO. I would like to see 38 again. I haven't caught them in a few years now, but I'm not dropping big bucks to that show especially with REO and Styx on it. Not to mention, 38 will probably play 45 minutes tops. As much as some rip on bands that play the local fairs, etc., I would rather see 38 there and play a full set. And yes, it would only cost a few dollars too.

This is not a good matchup. Too much alike, 38 being one standout.

See? I told you he was a "Skippy"! Image

But, Maria, have you EVER sat through a REO show before? Image

I'd be in for 7/10 in Chicago, if anyone wants to go. I want to see Styx and I totally missed REO last summer... I don't give much of a damn about 38 but I'm not adverse to seeing them.

LOL, that's far from the golden era of REO. They were at their best in the 70s before High Infidelity. But they are a great band and a great live show. How anyone could call them "boring" is beyond me. Cronin's fruity but they are good.

Is Lawrence Gowan still fronting this 'band'?

No... Lawrence is on keys, Tommy and JY are on guitars/synth, but all of them do sing, if that's what you mean?

In my opinion, since all contributed lead vocals to different songs, there was no actual "front man/lead" for the band. I miss Dennis' contributions, but unfortunately they felt that they needed a divorce, so us kids have to accept that. Image

BTW, what number front man is Journey on now? 2nd, 3rd, 4th... :? I think I've lost count.

I admit that I was confused when DDY was dropped like a hot potato. A la SMFP. But I was pleasantly surprised with Cyclorama. Now Big Bang Theory, and Brave New World are a different story. Think: Red13, and Generations.....

and I must add that Bourgeous Pig is a nice slap in the face to DDY.

6th.

If you want to count the fact that they told Jeremey "welcome to journey" (according to the article at least), then 7th.

I'm not falling for it, Ethel. A for effort though. :D

On topic... I'd totally be up for going to South Bend and the Dells. I heart 38 Spesh. (and Styx... and to a slightly lesser degree REO)... 8)

Saw them back in the day & they were rockin' ... whichever VanZandt brother plays for them plus two other guitarists ... haven't seen 'em lately, though.
