Just checked it out....and, definitely lame. No interest in joining. And, is it that hard to hire an editor?

I read everything and it is just MAAAAAD BAAAAD. Those bio's are hysterical. Someone needs to find their child and put him back in their play-pen, or at least wait until he/she hits second grade to start writing biographies on an official web site for a legendary band after talking the same very site up for a re-launch.

This literally pissed me off and serves Journey no justice whatsoever. "Never Walk Again" was referred to as "Never Walk Away." Holy shit! This HAS to be some kind of joke, and this all needs to be postponed until April 1st. Holy shit is the whole thing bad. Myspace things cool though, I think.

The did manage to confuse some of us , eh !?

Yea I was kidding about Perry touring as the name Journey. I sure he is home laughing his ass off at them and thinking how he sure doesn't want to be associated with where they have taken that band. You just can't tell me he doesn't laugh his ass off!

Anyone else notice the bio of the whole band? A bio of what? 2008? No Biography of the band whatsoever. No mention of how and why the band got started, when they got started, lineups throughout their career and so on. ETC's all over the play when dealing with this. :x In the words of Homer H. Simpson.

I, am deeply troubled by the bio's. It so look like they are trying their best to insult the singer that made them famous. I guess growing older doesn't always mean growing wiser. :o  :? :(

I think its hilarious that the new website makes no real mention of Perry, Smitty, Aynsley, etc....

YET... go to the MySpace site and Perry's ALL OVER IT....

...talk about inconsistent.... its like the MySpace site is the "drunk Uncle" to the official site.... lmao...

A bands site should list their history, especially with a history as rich as Journey's!!
I've never been a member there, but a lot of people will probably like the Myspace feel !!!

I was just about to say that, Sony/BMG. Maybe Journey has to provide the link as a trade off for selling the Sony/ BMG's catalog on their site. Sony could probably be a dick about the band distributing their older music since the label is no longer connected.

I think the connection with Media Temple as the grid service means it's a Drupal site. If that makes any sense at all. I read that MT is better for hobbyist sites but not intense traffic site as it requires a lot of maintenance and if one site goes down, all the sites on the grid go down.
I need to admit that I don't have any idea what I'm talking about here. Drupal is supposed to be like a one click solution I think. All of it sounds cheesy but It's supposed to be the big thing in the near future I guess.
I guess what this all means is to expect a lot of crashes and bugs as if you were using a beta product.

If they plan on having hits in the future, I understand them not getting bogged down in past history. All they want to present is the current lineup to potential new fans.

Obviously they want less comparisons to prior frontmen. Business wise its not really a bad move.

what did you guys expect, a page honoring Perry? As if.

I don't think they are trying to insult any previous band members. I think they are just l-a-z-y and don't give a s-h-i-t.

i like how modular drupal is, but i don't know enough about all the things that can go wrong. it's changing so fast that by the time i've learned a few things about it, 10 more things have changed.

Perhaps not. Perhaps it's just a reflection of a certain bias of the website designer (ahem).

When it comes to Social platform sites, I guess the worry is that the 3rd party module updates aren't keeping up with the Drupal updates and this could cause serious problems if you just try to drop in the newest 3rd party module you find. It's not quite plug and play yet.

Don't care for Drupal that much (I'm a "do it yourself" type of programmer). That being said, TinyMCE is my secret weapon - love TinyMCE... :)

thanks for the hot tip, although it looks like TinyMCE has already been replaced by Wysiwyg API.

And god forbid they not tailor their site SPECIFICALLY to the wants and DEMANDS of a bunch of people HERE and a few other places where 2.73 people have read in the last 6 months who hate them anyway and bang on about it all day long.
