My decision has nothing to do with the subject matter or information found at MR but more to do with the lies, secrecy, negativity and general nastiness of a few bad apples. In fact I have only come back on now to address this topic with what are thought to be the actual facts rather then speculation.

Rick knows full well that there has been a falling out behind the scenes between several prominent forum members and whilst I personally don't know the full story it is now commonly known amongst many other MR members that a secret forum (or VIP forum as it was dubbed by some) was active behind the scenes at MR. This information was divulged to many MR members by one of the 'VIPs' upon their recent departure from the board and was believed to have contained a handful of preferred members personally invited to discuss subject matters and information that were not made available in other areas. Discussions such as behind the scenes happenings in the Journey and Steve Perry camps as well as information about MR members especially those deemed suspicious in their motives. For whatever reason the 'VIP' area was recently closed and consequently some of the members left the board, others simply decided to have a break and one or two returned to posting on the main board after a lengthy absence.

Before anyone asks I don't know why this board was created and won't be answering any questions on the subject. Maybe it was felt necessary to contain a few personalities out of public view or maybe it was simply an outlet for those 'in the know'. Judging by some of the members I would say it was the former but frankly I don't really care. What does upset me somewhat is that so many people know of it's existence and the general goings on but everyone seems to afraid to touch on it. So here it is, out in the open and not in it's own topic but simply as a valid response to a thread entitled 'What's Going On Around Here?'.

That's just what's going on at surface level, I will leave everyone else to speculate about the rumours of other nefarious actions, ticket scams and generally underhanded and frankly unwelcome behaviour. Due to work I will not be around to 'defend' these claims nor do I wish to. Anyone calling me out on this either openly or behind the scenes is simply wasting their time. The truth is out there for those wishing to find out more and although I don't encourage muck raking I will say that myself and many others do not feel comfortable being a part of a community that continues to let this happen. They say knowledge is power and the balance of knowledge has now shifted leaving the 'power' in the hands of the majority rather than just a few.

Thank you to everyone for all your messages and emails in my absence, I am doing very well but simply too busy working 18 hour days to find time for much else at the moment. I promise I will respond to you all very soon but if anyone wants more info about any of the above I am simply repeating what I have heard from many people and there are many others more qualified and more willing to fill in the blanks. What I will say in closing is that now this is out in the open this could well be a 'new dawn' of sorts for MR without the Private Message rumour mill and nastiness toward certain members and with a much more open and inviting atmosphere. I sincerely hope it lasts. Enjoy it!

I for one thank you for speaking out on this. I was told once of a private forum of select members by one of the so called "VIP's". The same person who was stabbing me in the back the whole time while acting like a good friend to me in private. It saddens me greatly how lowdown and meanspirited some people can be...especially when you've done nothing at all to them but be a nice person and caring friend and give to them.
Anyway, I hope those who have done things will take time to reflect on their actions and that they get a conscience and have regrets and will try to become better people. I also hope they will someday grow enough to try to make amends to those they have hurt along the way. Wishful thinking I know, but people can, if they are honest with at least themselves ... make an effort to change their ways and become better people. If they can't bring themselves to do the right thing and confess their wrongs and make amends to those they have done damage to here then I hope they at least learned enough of a lesson from it all that they will not continue to do hurtful things towards others in the future.

Some of you lot talk endlessly about the inner workings of this forum and clandestine meetings and messages and arguments as if I don't fricking exist. Why don't people ever bring this shit to my attention rather than turn it into a Oliver Stone worthy conspiracy?

There was at one time an additional board that was more for me and T-Bone to dump deleted topics and problem issues into and discuss and I added a couple of extra people into that forum that I trust for their advice. As it was needed, cause you lot do my fucking head in and I'm sick of it.

Some asshole broke my trust so it was deleted. End of conspiracy and end of story. Those very few that I confided in (for the good o my SANITY....fat lot of bloody good that did me) are all still here and all still talk tome.

Because conspiracies are so much more interesting than thinking that maybe people have real lives and don't have as much time to be on-line any more. And because some people do/have talked as though they have special insider information, when what they are really good at doing is just reading the posts, picking up clues and drawing their own conclusions. Hell, I know of one person who was so good at that, she persuaded another forum member that she could access his PMs! I showed him exactly where she could have found the information she referred to on the boards, and the logical connections to make, but he was still so freaked out he quit posting for a while.

Sad truth is, some people enjoy playing mindfucks. Here's to hoping those folks get mental VD :wink:

Seriously, this is insane. Maybe a few peole had PMS and left on their own, and maybe some others are just busy and not spending as much time as they once did... whatever... its the cycle of ANY message board. Its just what happens. This is nothing new.
