Besides, those "Perryisms" were ripped off from Sam Cooke.

I don't listen to Sam Cooke though and Perry didn't replace him in Journey.

lol.

I don't understand you, sometimes.

How so?!?!? I'm asking because I want to hear your take on this!!
Many people over the years have covered Sam Cooke, yet you do not hear the same comparisons that you do when Steve Perry covers Sam Cooke or even when Steve Perry covers Steve Perry. What is it about Steve Perry voice or style that warrants such comparisons? Is it the soft, intense, yet angelic soulfulness that makes you feel every note he is delivering or is it strictly the Whoa-ah-oh-oh-oh’s?!?!?
I am a huge Sam Cooke fan and I cannot get over how, at times, I cannot tell the voices apart. Listen to Steve Perry singing Bring It On Home….absolutely amazing!!! Even the speaking voices are remarkably similar. Steve Perry may use Cookeisms in his singing style, but there is no duplicating an intensely soulful, perfect delivery….you either have it or you don’t!!! I will forever be amazed by the similarities in these two voices.

Top 2 or three of the year, in a great year for new releases sounds about right.

A sensational record and going in I had my doubts.

I grew tired of it pretty quickly though and moved on. Disc one and the DVD are now the property of one of my pinoy coworkers (seeing as Walmart doesn't care enough to even keep it in stock anymore), while Disc two is being used as part of my bird feeder assembly in the back yard.

i gave it a 10...disc 1 (5) + disc 2 (1) + dvd (4) = total (10)!

Don't have Jamison's Crossroads Moment yet, will when it's out here in US next month.

Rev is real good, but I dunno. It didn't have a TON of staying power for me, at least not cohesively. I'm still playin the hell out of CM and it's just so cool to hear JJ back in top form. Arrival is still the best Journey effort since 1983 for me... if Rev had been preceded only by Gens, I might be a little bit higher on Rev. But don't get me wrong, Rev was very solid.

You have to go way back for there to have been a new album that I've listened to as many times so early on as I have with Crossroads Moment.

However, even though some people on this forum accuse me of being to big of a fan of Jamison, really I may be an even bigger Neal Schon fan? So of course that helps with Revelation for me.
