OT: U2 On Letterman (Beautiful Day)

I thought this performance was ace. The crowd (usually less animated for a tv audience) was digging it and Bono had them on their feet towards the end. I don't like alot of the U2 library, but some of their songs do well in a live setting and this was one of them.

Wow, the crowd was wild in this one, pretty cool to see actually, for a Letterman crowd, that's good.

Bono's voice is getting weaker. He was dodging notes at the end but I did like how he threw some extra lines in there.

U2 on letterman
like beatles on ed sullivan

and then dedicated it to the ramones

good clip

I'll be looking forward to seeing them on the upcoming tour.

Did you notice the piped-in background vocals? It was obviously Bono's voice on the backing tracks - listen at 2:33. More and more bands are doing that nowadays.

POWERFUL song. Bono never was the draw for me. THe simple yet incredible SONIC playing of Edge. His sound is so fucking gigantic !
