I'm going Florida where should I stay?

We're thinking of going to Panama City Beach. I've been there along time ago, can anyone recommend a nice place to stay? I don't have to have a five star hotel but don't want a cheap motel either. Would like it to be on the beach if possible. Pet friendly a plus. Thanks! 8)

Don't know how much "action" you are looking for... but we just got back from staying a few days at the DoubleTree in North Reddington Beach (Clearwater/Tampa area). It's really nice, right on the beach with plenty to do in the area...

Not much action- in fact, we're trying to totally avoid Spring Break. I'll look into this one, we were thinking Panama City or St. Pete area. Clearwater would be perfect and I love it there. Thanks.

Longboat Key is great, too, which is below St. Pete.

I prefer farther down the west coast, Sanibel Island, Captiva.

How many will be traveling with you? There are a lot of condo's available on www.vrbo.com along Highway 30-a. In between Destin and Panama City and about 20 miles west of Panama City. Very nice area, close to Seaside

I have a co-worker that stayed at a pretty new resort in Panama City. I'll get back to you once I hear back from her.

Very nice- there will only be two people though so a condo will be too much money for just the two of us. We were trying to stay around $100 per night. Also- we're trying to avoid Spring Break. We should probably wait until after April, huh?

I am sure you could find a lot of places in Panama City for $100 even studios/1 bedroom condos. There are many rental agencies, condos and hotels there that are vacant, so you should still get a great deal, many are pet friendly as well. You can always negotiate.

Stay at Disney's Polynesian hotel! Ha ha. Not that you would unless you were going to Disney World. We stayed there last time we went. It was a blast. Then I found out that was where John Lennon signed the final papers to dissolve The Beatles.

Fu**, can't believe I stayed there! ME of all people!

;)
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I have stayed here. Quiet location right on the beach. The beach was deserted.
