What is this song from? Was from Against the Wall or FTLOSM and not included on either one of them? Sorry if this has been answered, but what a hell of a vocal. Talk about the perfect vibrato and freakin control, wow.

But the "neysayers" swear that he had lost his voice by this time. A small amount of range, maybe. But he had gained so much tone, richness and texture to his voice.

If his voice sounds like this on the new album, I'll be thrilled. I'm betting on a lot of music like this on it.

these lyrics are very telling... I'd swear this is about the band...

One More Time

Why
Why should I feel so sad
Thinking of times
When life was a smile

I've dreamed
Of turning back time
To memories so dear
Now I'm here
Where I must go on

When I close my eyes
I long to be there
One more time

Sometimes
I look back and smile
With a tear
Knowing that I'll
Never go back anymore

When I close my eyes
I long to be there
One more time

I know tomorrow
I'll look on today
So now I step back and reach for a smile
For now, here's my yesterday

When I close my eyes
I long to be there
One more time

Mad.. I know we give you a hard time... but I'm pretty sure that there isn't a person on this board that wouldn't stand in line for days to buy a new Perry CD.

Pineda is like Warhol... but Perry is Michaelangelo... the man just so BECOMES the song...

So true, he does. 8)

But, sorry, I'm one person on this board that would never stand in line for days. I'll order it and wait. I'm not even a huge fan of his solo work, just parts of it. His best work to me will always be with Journey, with Neal. But I respect those that love all of his solo stuff.

There's roughly fourteen years between now and then. Perry sounded substantially weaker on TBF than FtLoSM. He won't sound the same.

Not so sure about that. Here's why.

He sounded better on FTLOSM than he did on ATW. He sounded better on TBF than he did on FTLOSM. He sounded better on I Stand Alone than he did on TBF. He ought to sound fantastic by now, no?

*sigh*

Look, some things aren't subjective. The fact of the matter is that, even doctored, TBF showed an appalling lack of power, range, and control compared to FtLoSM. On a technical level, there is no comparison. He demonstrated greater everything on FtLoSM.

I don't see it that way. But you can't deny he sounded better after Against the Wall. And I think he sounded better on I Stand Alone than anything after Raised on Radio. Although, I'll concede that was just one song. I'm just trying to be the optimist. ;)

I postulated about the possibility of him undergoing surgery, maybe because you brought it up, and all of the 'talk' about him sounding better than he has in 20 some-odd years.

You are obviously alluding to some type of cold knife-type corrective surgery or something of that ilk. Personally, I have been hoping for years that SP would look into such a thing as to my ears, he had classic symptoms of vocal nodules.

What I question is that, with SP seemingly being an intensely private guy, why would he let something like that leak out to anyone, especially YOUR supposed contact?

If anything, a polyp, not a nodule as you said. Nodules are pretty rare in grown males. If Perry got some sort of polyp, without treating it with vocal rest (let's say he didn't), then it's pretty likely that scar tissue could evolved after bleeding on the vocal cords which could come as a effect of overstressing the vocalcords. So surgery ain't some magic pill, as scar tissue is practicly impossible to remove, and even without any scar tissue, some kind of microlaryngial surgery wouldn't be able to restore a voice like Perry's. If he did have a polyp at any time then he most likely was just told to rest his voice over a long period of time, and we all know how impatient Neal can be! :)

Well, it's not hard to see what procedures have been performed at a given hospital, when you know people who work at said hospital. Let's leave it at that.

You're kidding, right? It's illegal to spread any information regarding another patient. It's called Patient Confidentiality. So you're telling me that you honestly got a doctor or nurse who knows a friend of a dead aunt which rather abruptly slept with Harry's sister, who works in a gas station and accidently told you when you were out looking for turnips on your step-mothers tricycle?

Yeah... Right.

If you've got a friend who work at a hospital and they're giving out information, they better shut up quick!

I worked in Medical Records and a woman just mentioned to a friend that she saw someone they knew was a patient there and it got back to bosses. She was fired and asked to leave the office immediately!

Seriously, Madsplash...

I am a pretty open minded guy, and up til now I have suspended my disbelief regarding your 'insider info', but what you are dishing enters one of two realms:

1. Fiction based on delusion or for whatever other reasons you have, or

2. Seriously questionable moral and/or legal breaches of confidence. What parfait said pretty much nails it. That kind of information is not supposed to be given to the general public without consent, so your 'contact', should they exist, should cease flapping their gums...

OMG, I didn't say that I had sources. But plenty of people do, and believe it or not, those people have friends that they can tell those things to.

I have family who work here at MY local hospital and I can tell you any procedure that was done on any given day. You don't think that are people at EVERY hospital in the country that can tell someone that they know, those kinds of things?

Everything is so hard to believe for you. It's not that complicated.
