Method of delivery. I believe everyone has a certain need for attention. Who doesn't like receiving attention? However, there's positive attention and negative attention and the method of delivery, as in how one conducts oneself, will certainly dictate which type of attention one receives.

But this piercing thing... wow. That one is way beyond my capabilities in interpreting human behavior. Could be that it started out as something she liked, maybe she had 10, or 20 piercings... that draws attention... maybe she likes the attention... maybe she enjoyed being different, unique... and now she has 4000 holes in her body.

(and 500 are in her... area. I am still cringing at that)

Do you think I've gone a little too far?

You may also be forgetting that piercing the body releases endorphins and some people get sort of addicted to that endorphin rush. They can enjoy that feeling while justifying that this is much better than doind drugs.

Read somewhere that piercings in privates/errogenous zones increase pleasure.

Never will try it 'cause I'm allergic to nickel...have to wear gold. In the 60's, I pierced my own earlobes, without any freezing, etc. and that proved to me I'm not into unnecessary physical pain.

It's a risk though. There is also a chance you will lose sensation in the pierced area.

Even more severe are those who like to suspend themselves with chains by using their piercings...
but as they say what ever does it for you...

So many people these days have facial piercings, much more than there used to be. But she's gone to a realm where people usually fear to tread. I give kudos to her for her sheer spunk.

I wouldn't call that spunk. I call it a pathological need to mutilate herself in her sick need for attention.

We have a winner!

WOW...a bit harsh don't you think?

Actors and actresses have a need for attention too....but since no one is hurt in their seeking, it is somehow different?

Separating the need from the method for a moment...Is the need for attention disturbing, or just the method of delivery?

Still doesn't answer my question.....are you saying its inherently sick to seek attention in general? Cause that's how that reads.....

Absolutely not. That's not what I'm saying. Let me ask you this, do you really think the guy in the picture on NIG's post is normal & that he doesn't have issues?

Oooh those movies were wickedly fascinating...Never saw any other movie so graphically horrific.
Best to leave some doors closed...I could see how they could give you nightmares.

I have no problem with this. As long as they're not hurting others.
