Arnel's father still works as a tailor in the Philippines. His three brothers are married and live in the Philippines. Arnel supported his second to the youngest brother, Roderick (Erik), through university.
Arnel has three sons: Matthew (19 years), Angelo (11 years), and Cherub (3 years). When he's not on tour with Journey, he lives in Quezon City with his wife, Cherry, and their son, Cherub.[3] Arnel has a cousin, Ramone Pineda who lives in Hawaii and is a big fan. Ramone asserts that Arnel did not harm or injure Steve Perry (the earlier lead singer from Journey) in any way.
WTF does THAT mean? Did they have a fist fight we don't know about?

Dude, why don't you kiss my big, hairy............Nah, that'd be too easy.
When the album comes out this year, like I said it would, I'll mail you a copy and you can shove it completely up your ass and let me know how Steve's voice sounds from that perspective.
How about that? Dude.

This is a play on words, however, the author is even more stupid. If anyone was harmed, it's Pineda. Perry, or his legacy, has ruined a singer already, and is about to put Pineda out of the business sooner rather than later. He is singing a half step lower not even two years into his tenure. There is something to this folks. Pineda's shelf life is very short. He can't do this 2 more years. A half step down is a big deal. It's a move to get through a tour. it's not a move to change the music. Those of you who think it is a precautionary move, well, i won't rain on your parade, but it is a necessary move.
Perry is King, get over it.

Nothing. I'm not the one who made the smart ass "in the know" comment, am I?

You really expect people not to make comments like that? You came onto this board from post ONE talking all about how much INSIDE INFO and how much you knew about what was going on with Steve Perry, smacked everyone in the face with the word FACT at every turn (yet you provided not one single bit of information that can be proven), and it wore thin in two microseconds.

You sure seem to take a lot of joy out of this dude. You too Deeno, which is kind of surprising considering you seemed to really dig Arnel in Vegas (I may be remembering incorrectly).
I take no joy at all in this. I like Arnel, and am concerned for his future. Perry went all of those shows and tours and didn't have to start lowering things until his FTLOSM tour. Arnel has done one tour now and it's happening. Very worrisome for him.

Brian Johnson is an anomoly....stick anyone else in AC/DC and they couldn't hack ONE show. Ripper Owens is another....he just can do Halford. Again, stick David Pack in there and he ain't surviving a show.
Arnel isn't Perry. And this is not a slam, this is fact. The catalog is grueling, face it.

Get over yourself. You're no hero and no one is going to congratulate you for sharing the same information we've also heard for awhile now. I heard the very same things before you ever joined this board and so have MANY others.
I don't need an "excuse". If you're right, you're right, if not, whatever.I'm not hinging my life on it like you obviously are. Its your attitude and your personality that suck, not your information about Steve Perry.

never seen Ac/Dc live. HOW does that guy do what he does?

That's very perceptive and I'd agree with all of it. The fact of the matter is that the classic songs were tailored for Perry to sing, and even he was ultimately destroyed by them. Arnel and Perry are two different singers with two different styles; Arnel's a chameleon, true, and he has many Perry-esque qualities -- the high tenor and tone -- but ultimately, he's a different animal entirely. He's not a countertenor and is likely used to singing in a slightly lower register where he can throw some grit in. That's why there should be precious few, if any, '70s-era shit on this tour.

madsplash wrote:I agree with everything you said. Although SP isn't "destroyed". Just lost some of his old range and many fans , like me, actually PREFER Frontiers era and after and love the last stuff we heard with TBF and I Stand Alone, which is a vocal masterpiece, IMO.
But you're right Arnel isn't SP(no one is) and the band needs to take heed of that. Maybe they are just starting to hear the strain and that's why the lowered the keys already. That'd be very smart of them to have done.

Then I'll say the same thing to you. The board doesn't need you to come in and point it out everytime I say something you perceive as negative. Leave my posts alone if you don't like it. PROBLEM SOLVED.
