No one said anyone was "spreading any rumors", just that when you have someone close to you that works at a hospital, they can tell you anything they know. If you don't think that stuff happens you're being naive. It happens all the time.

There's roughly fourteen years between now and then. Perry sounded substantially weaker on TBF than FtLoSM. He won't sound the same.

But you have to realize that he will have had help since then. Medical technology, my friend. Watch and see.

I postulated about the possibility of him undergoing surgery, maybe because you brought it up, and all of the 'talk' about him sounding better than he has in 20 some-odd years.

You are obviously alluding to some type of cold knife-type corrective surgery or something of that ilk. Personally, I have been hoping for years that SP would look into such a thing as to my ears, he had classic symptoms of vocal nodules.

What I question is that, with SP seemingly being an intensely private guy, why would he let something like that leak out to anyone, especially YOUR supposed contact?

Well, it's not hard to see what procedures have been performed at a given hospital, when you know people who work at said hospital. Let's leave it at that.

OMG, now you also have other sources at hospitals.

OMG, I didn't say that I had sources. But plenty of people do, and believe it or not, those people have friends that they can tell those things to.

I have family who work here at MY local hospital and I can tell you any procedure that was done on any given day. You don't think that are people at EVERY hospital in the country that can tell someone that they know, those kinds of things?

Everything is so hard to believe for you. It's not that complicated.

No, it's not that complicated. I believe one part, you know something about him working on a new CD. You could have left it at that. But you had to insert yourself in the Randy Jackson promo like you knew something and make it into something it wasn't, and now you know someone who knows someone at the hospital. Just sayin' . . . . . . .

I never said that the little clip of SP and Journey on idol was what I was talking about. I AM still saying to keep watching AI this season for other possible " SP suprises". Not 100% sure, but I feel pretty confident saying that.

Both my parents are doctors, but I, oddly enough, have never heard anything about the slightest bit of procedure info. It's against the law, and it's extremly unproffesionel to talk about anything regarding procedures and or patients. I don't know you, but I sure know that your family, those that work in the hospital anyways, should get a fine and some minor shower and/or bunk fun in jail. The first thing you learn before starting to counsel with patients, is exactly never to break the confidentality. No one likes a guy spreading rumors man, and especially not a lying one.

Actually, no they can't tell you anything they know and if they do, they should be reprimanded or fired. It does not matter whether it is a physician bound by confidentiality or the desk clerk. I worked at a pharmacy as a cashier once and even there it was made very clear that people's prescriptions or personal information are private and not to discuss them with anyone. If, for example, some hospital worker saw SP in the hospital, found out he was a patient, and then checked the posted surgeries - first of all, it was none of their bloody business! And then to tell you or anyone else was unprofessional to say the least.

Unfortunately I am well aware that this stuff happens - that does not make it right. What business is it of yours to be posting another person's private medical information (real or assumed) on a public message board? This really crossed the line.

OK. Can you please right now, say for a fact that SP hasn't recorded new material and won't be releasing an album this year? Please put all of my lies and misinformation to rest. Are you willing to go on the record as saying that it absolutely won't happen? If so, cool and we'll mark it down as we have with what I've said will happen. If not, I don't understand popping in every now and then and always "hinting" that I'm wrong.

And as for "spreading rumors", I'm doing nothing of the kind. Just saying what I've been told. Anyone can take it for what it's worth.

This will all play out soon enough, won't it?

Oh, chill out. I'm not posting anyone's "private medical information". I'm just saying what I've been told. If people knew HALF of what went on in hospitals, it would shock them.

Just having read this thread from start to finish, for what it's worth (which is fuck all) I'm siding with slapdash. This is like the LA Times (if there is such a paper) reporting that Maria Carey has had her tits done. Pure tittle tattle.

Madslpah is probably right. Perry had the surgery he should have had years ago. A few tours and a few fans too late he had it. Great. Without Journey he'll remain irrelaevant in this guy's heart. And I suspect I'm not the only one that feels cheated. lol...60...nice timing, dude. It took Arnel Pineda for you to grow a pair and feel the need to sing again. Good luck.

It just makes sense, doesn't it SJ? I'm not sure it took Arnel. If it were an ego thing, I think he would have done something right after they hired Augeri. THAT"S when his legacy was challenged by them daring to go on without him. Unfortuneately that was right around the time of his hip surgery and the timing wasn't right.

I think is just all about him wanting to say something musically and to let everyone remember that he was the one who, as Jon has said, "has the keys".

Hey if your right I would be the first to celibrate! Just let it happen naturally.........no need for theories...........

P.S. the surgery thing sounds dumb to me without something concrete, and someone could have lied to someone, who told someone, etc...........Sorry more proof needed than I heard it through the gossip lines at a hospital.........Rumors used to say he was having surgery when his mom was in the hospital for treatments too, not cool! Don't buy into all you hear.

Agreed. Steve Pery will ALWAYS remain the greatest sing ever to me. It's just a shame that through selfishness, insecurity and silly grudges that he kept his talent from us. Journey fans deserve better. We were faithful and he wasn't. Maybe he'll tour with shitty musicians again. It's all we can hope for.

Hahahaha, oh dear. I was going to say the same thing, in a sarcastic joke of course. Neal Schon is a LEGEND, there is NO comparison, as Neal is MILES ahead in every department (success, money, fame, popularity, respect, recognition, skill, talent) you name it.

Lincoln Brewster was just getting his start, and did fine. But I am sorry, I have stood less than a foot right in front of Schon with no barriers, watching him play. He is one of rocks greatest guitar players.
No contest.................Schon is better, and more seasoned. Sorry, mad, put back on the little hat and go bake in the sun a little longer...........

Yeah...ok. He was average at best. The rest were terrible...save Paul Taylor. That dude was good. The drummer is the worst I've ever heard. His backgrouund vox were criminally bad. Way to not sell out high school gyms. He needs Journey. Journey does not need him. 26,000 people in Chicago agreed with me last year.

Sarcasm aside, Brewster is pretty damn good. And one can't judge talent based on relative fame; otherwise Neal would be relatively subpar. But I personally don't think Brewster has demonstrated quite the chops and certainly not the level of creativity or melody. Overall, yeah, Neal's quite a bit better.

That's different Gideon. I'm just saying that he played Neal's parts FLAWLESSLY. I love Neal's playing. As for Arnel and SP, we know that the voice is very different from a guitar. Many more possible inflections are able to be used by the human voice than a physical instrument. Arnel can kinda hit the notes SP did, but it sounds very different. The clips of the FTLOSM tour, the guitar parts are almost EXACT to what Neal played, right down to Lincoln's tone.

Believe me, I give Neal credit for CREATING all of those fantastic parts, he's a legend, but it's much easier for someone to cop his technical prowess than to copy Perry's.

Wrong.

Todd Jensen is good too. Here with Neal, Deen and Paul Rodgers. Love this clip! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK6ydCIHW2E

Paul Taylor  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlN3oEjMpUQ
