I dont want to get in trouble. Any way you want it my remix

Postby Liquid_Drummer » Sun Mar 15, 2009 5:40 am

I have remixed anyway you want it from the masters I found and think it sounds way more modern. Perry is more upfront as well as the organ and every instrument has been panned and tweaked to my liking. You can hear what Ross is playing and I think I removed the "boxy" drum sound that always bugged me a little. I buried Neal justa bit and made him and the organ closer in volume. I would like some opinions on the mix but will I get hit with a damn law suit for posting it ?

Thanks. My own little remaster. How cool to be able to experiment with professional tracks. I would love to produce/engineer for a living.

Much better than the original, LD. You can actually hear Gregg on this one.

LD you need to be doing this for a living. That is fabulous. I love that the vocals are clearer and you can hear more of the bass now... You are one talented person. Thanks a million for doing and thanks Rick for posting it.

You ought to hear him sing. He's like Deen Castronovo. He's a drummer that doesn't realize he should be a singer. Fucking moron.

Well, my singing is so hit and miss because I smoke. As a result my stamina in the upper range isnt very good. I can hammer out about a set until I start sounding like Chris Cornell with a head cold.

Here are some clips.

I recommend Whos Crying now as I think that was the best recording and performance. The others are ok and the whole project starting with Ill be alright was an experiement in recording and mixing as well. If you listen to them all you can hear that the quality improved over the course of it with Who's crying now and the Queensryche tune. They are all date stamped. I am proud ad lib backing high note on If he should break your heart and After the fall. Hope you enjoy my twist on it.

This is the Floyd tribute I sing and drum in. tons of clips but to get the low down watch the promo. This is all live, no overdubs. 9 people up there on some songs. You see very little of me in the vids because it was hard to geta camera back there.

LD, you do sound a little thin on the upper register, but your tone is very impressive. You sound like a mid- to high- tenor. Do you know what you are?

Edit: Beautiful high notes towards the very end of IHSBYH and a marvelous vibrato.

To be fair, LD has just put his voice to music for the musings of our ears. He doesn't profess to be a singer, but I think he's missing one boat, in that respect. Keep drumming, but don't forget your other talents.

I think he'd make a great career out of it. Of course, it's all about timing and location, but he does have a great voice and I'd imagine he's an amazing drummer.

Youtube this stuff, LD.

LD you are really good. I like After the Fall and Lights.. I agree youtube the stuff... Rick you're in DFW area right. I grew up in Oklahoma but lived in the DFW are for 13 years.. I miss Texas at times.. Sorry off topic there for a second...

LD you did the AWYWI with just Perry's vocals right? Superb! You should be in the music industry, especially if that is where your heart is.
