The casual fan ruins it for us all.
That's my point. Relevant bands, like U2, Bruce, Petty, McCartney, and the like,
do play stuff buried deep on older albums and their fans eat it up. They remain important and relevant. These classic bands Lynn referenced are just milking the cow for the last times. Why pay to see the songs you can watch on your own TV with good sound? Doesn't it get old?
As for the fans who didn't like the 30th Tour, well....I know why that is. For so long, Journey pandered to the pop and present crowd, alienating the true rock fan, and thus weren't taken serious, so as a result, the serious rock fan didn't go to a Journey show. The pop and present fan did, and that's what is in their audience today. The lacking attention fan, the shallow fan and the casual fan. Journey made their bad, and now get to sleep in the same sheets and covers every night.
By the way, the 30th tour was their finest, if you could forgive lip syncing and install Perry in there. Great concept though and I applaud that.
