Most of us in the US are mutts...little bit of this and a little bit of that. According to old census rolls, I've got some Irish in me.

And wouldn't the Brits like St. Patrick? Wasn't he really English or Welsh?

My Grandmother Loretta had this Toast on a ceramic wall-hanging:

"May you be in heaven
A half an hour before
The devil knows you're dead."

TOTALLY her sense of humor. 8)

Worst holiday known to man. Irish people boast as if they have any sort of relevant heritage, cuisine or important historical figures. They don't.

No?

Ever heard of alcohol? Corned Beef and cabbage? Green food colouring?

Dude, you want to see a metropolis clusterfuck? Come to LA on May 5th and see all the beaners bumping around drinking beaner beer and eating goddamned burritos, driving heaps of shit with expired tags, flat tires, Raider stickers, and chain steering wheels. Shitting on the sidewalks, selling third hand shit they stole from the neighbours. It is a time to bunker downand hide out til that shit is over. Cinco de mayo? Garbage.

That is one day you won't see a car wash open, hear a leaf blower, or get a newspaper delivered. They all call in sick and hit up the grocery stores for Corona's and limes.

Well, you DO have a point there....

I went to Ireland, and:

1. Their "National Cuisine" is NOT Corned Beef & Cabbage.

2. Less than 10% of the population is red-haired w/ tons of freckles; the majority of people look dark, like Colin Farrell.
The red-haired thing was a Tourist Ploy.

3. However, the Northern Ireland Resistance is something to be respected. They held their ground against the English.
Oh, and I'm also part English.
