Well folks, Journey's "Where Did I Lose Your Love" has spent 3 weeks on the AC Charts now and this week sees the single moving up from #30 to #28. 90 spins this week is an increase of 24 reaching an audience of 66,000. 3 stations added the song to their playlist:
KNEV 99.5FM Reno, Nevada http://www.955mixfm.com/
WAHR 99.1FM Huntsville, Alabama http://www.star99.fm/
WZID 95.7FM Manchester, New Hampshire http://www.wzid.com/
Maybe you might want to drop these stations an email to thank them for adding the single and/or a request to play it more.
For those that remember my updates on the old forum, one song/artist I followed was "Chasing Pavement" by Adele. At the time she was on the HOT AC and TOP 40 charts. I find it interesting that she is now on the AC chart (for 11 weeks) sitting at number 25. This simply illustrates the crossover opportunities. Listening to "Where Did I Lose Your Love" I find myself thinking this is truly a song that can reach HOT AC and maybe even TOP 40/CHR charts. This is not just a ballad like "After All These Years". If Journey doesn't wait too long, like they did with "After All These Years", they might be able to gain some stronger attention for the current single and likewise for "Revelation". I may not have great expectations for continued sales success with "Revelation" but if the band is willing to release a single and it charts at all (as "Where Did I Lose Your Love has) then I think they ought to give it the full effort. What kind of promotion is the band thinking of? Probably none since they are in the midst of touring. But maybe during the break between the Asian tour and the true start of the US summer tour they might consider a promotional push for this single. There could still be life in "Revelation". I believe the material is strong enough.
