The negativity of some people could suck the color out of a rainbow. And the over-the-top worship can be just as crazy. If you let what others say affect the way you feel about someone and their music, that is on you. People like to speculate and discuss on message forums, but nothing anyone posts here affects the music I listen to. Well, unless it is someone suggesting an artist I haven't listened to before.

I am siting here and have finally realized. I have absolutely no reason to post here. Seriously, why post on a band's site when you have nothing nice to say about them? I finally got the memo.
We talk about relevancy here lately. If anyone has lost MR relevancy, it's me!

Observe as the predator attempts to lull his prey into a false sense of security... before striking when the defenses are down.

RnD is way more reactionary than predatory, in my experience.

So if rumor train A leaves the step-mom's manicurist's son's boy scout den mother's mouth at 8:55 traveling 29 mph eastbound, and a contradictory rumor train B leaves Willie Nelson's dealer's mortgage lender's mouth at 10:01 headed southwesterly, madsplash will start a thread 10 miles out from Neverland at 11:45? ...I'm so confused.

I don't care if Arnel sounds better or worse on the classics. Their time has passed. They already made their marks on the charts and in the memories of people like me who were in High School and attending the Escape and Frontiers concerts. I have Escape on 8-track, cd, sacd and Mini-disc. Perry's voice is the only one I will associate with those songs. You younger peeps like Gideon are in a different boat altogether. Since it wasn't new when you initially heard it, I don't think you can completely understand the attachment to it that some of us have it when it first came out, When the videos were on MTV every day and you couldn't wait to hear the next release on the radio.
It's probably the same for people who discovered Journey when Augeri came on board. To them, it doesn't matter if he was the weaker singer amongst the three, he is one attached to their memories so he will be preferred by them most of the time. It's just the way it is.
I know there are some here who will say they have been fans since the 70's and it's all about the music and not the singer and that's fine.
I don't roll that way though, and never will. I will judge each of them by their own original material and that's that. I don't care who wrote what or any of that. It's about which version I heard first and have had embedded into my subconscious. I'm not going to change the soundtrack of my life because the group changed singers, not as long as I can have the version I grew up with available to me.

Clarify, please? You mean the friendly picking?
Friendly picking also reads as mocking another's personality and style.

I have only met Gunbot once, but from what I saw he seems quiet and thoughtful. I love it when quiet, thoughtful people like Gunbot speak with volume and depth. Case in point, the above-mentioned.
Of course this could never be me as I tend to say what I mean even if it is wrong and I've put my foot in my mouth so often I can give myself a pedicure with my teeth!
