Look at the 1:43 mark. Arnel runs up to Neal, and he points and it looks like he's saying "get over there somewhere and leave me alone!"

My favorite part is in don't stop believin when arnel bows down to neal on guitar solo. Other than that is sure looks like the Pineda show with the way that stage is set up and the rest of the band is at the back of the stage. They definitely rocked!!
Come back Steve Perry!!

You are as bad as some myopic Arnelian sometimes. :) Come on Deb, as much as you and I for that matter love Jeffy, Perry can't be topped. Go listen to Perry do this on the Houston DVD and then listen to anyone else try that and tell me with a straight face that Perry's version was inferior.

WTF is wrong with you people? Are you all on dope?

Short memories, apparently.

Must be. How can folks ever forget Perry and how good he really was is mind boggling.

I think Arnel did a great job on his Manila tour songs, better than I have heard in the past. Whatever his secret for improving so much between Super Bowl and Manila, Kudos to him.
However, I've been listening to Perry singing on CDs ALL DAY today and believe me Deano.......... NO ONE COMPARES to Steve Perry, no one will forget.......... He is unforgetable and the magic
of his voice is unparalled. All it takes is to go back and listen to Perry, and REMEMBER. :D

I'm ok with no key changes as I want to hear it like it's supposed to sound. Are you sure they weren't down a half step? You're going to make me get the guitar out aren't you bro?

If a guy is having trouble I agree with you man. If they have to drop a half step all of the time then they don't have the right guy as I expect to hear the shit in the original key. Fuck em if they can't find someone with the capability to sing the shit like Perry did. The tapes are bullshit too, they should cancel shows first. Arnel sounded pretty good on the clips I heard, much better than the super bowl fiasco.

He sounded pretty good on the Macau clip too. He has great pipes but lets get him detuned on all the fucking vibrato as it's way over the top.

On a different topic, I've always loved that avatar of yours. You've put into pictures what I expect to hear when I hit the pearly gates. Cheers for that!

Detuning is not an option, Arnel nailed it without any key change,I hope he can keep it up,If the fauk J boys can tour the right way ,this year will be a good year for Journey, and us fans. If they over book there touring, and blow his voice out, this will be the end, just like 2007. Its up to Friga and Neal.I hope they dont blow it like they did with Steve Augeri.

I didn't mean detune in that way bro. I meant Arnel needs to quit putting massive vibrato on every note he sings. He needs to chill and just sing the dang songs (detune=less vibrato).

[Loon]Nonsense! St -- er... I mean Arnel is just emoting!!1![/loon]

I'm fine with it for now. It hasn't reached distracting levels yet.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'
