You worked for Journey?! :P

Sorry about your job loss Frank. I hope things look up for you soon. Damn economy, job losses all over here in Canada too. :(

That is true. My husband and I have been living 300 miles apart since the beginning of the year, because there is absolutely no work for him here, and at this point in time, I can't give up my stable job to join him. He had a $35/hr job for the first 6 weeks he was there, then was laid off. He was lucky enough to find another almost immediately, but the salary is about half that and it's so physically demanding it's killing his already injured back. But - I work with several women in a similar situation who would rather sit there and whine than "let " their husbands out of their clutches to go away to find work. My point is - in these times you do what you have to, to survive, keep a sense a humor and believe that it will get better. (It had better, I'm tired of picking up all the dog shit in the yard myself  ).

I'm actually getting quite a laugh out of this thread....and everyone's entitled to their opinion regarding this....but I will address this one point.

Obama is the one responsible for destroying the professional services industry. Accounting and Law used to be extremely insulated from this sorta thing. While I wouldn't say these two professions are 'depression' proof, they are recession proof....and what Obama has done in the past 3 months, is turn the progression of our economy from a very serious recession, into pretty much, a crash course with a very serious depression.

Corporate America is basically scared to death to spend money....not because of the economy...but because of the outlash that the news media (which is fueled by an out of control democrat causcus (WHICH IS OBAMA'S responsibility)) and congress have generated. Corporations have basically shut down to shell companies, performing the bare minimum in services, sales and support in an effort to stay out of Obama's and Congress's crosshairs. This means, beyond the abolute minimum, once necessary accounting and legal expenses are getting frozen. Say what you want, but these two industries are necessary parts of a well oiled economy. By destroying them, you are freezing the corporate cogs....

....and that is turning what was once a battered and torn economy with a small chance of revival into a barely alive one that can't stay alive without dreaded life support from the government.

and that's what B Hussein Obama wants....he wants things to get SO bad that the last place people can turn to, for ANY support is the government....and the government will provide on their terms. (which means taking more of your hard earned money and giving it away to people that dont want to work hard).

While you people can think I'm just bitter cause I lost my job....we'll you're right. partially. I'm pissed...because 2-3 months ago, my career and job was secure. Obama has ruined the corporate life cycle...and my job, along with thousands of other accountants and lawyers in NYC have vanished....

If some of you think that trickle down economics is either bad or doesn't work....ask yourself this very basic question. Who's going to give Joe the plumber a job (now that no one's looking to remodel bathrooms anymore)? Dick, the welfare recipient who gets $425 a week from Uncle Barrack? or Raymond the small or big business owner, who makes enough money, thanks to corporate america's wheel turning properly (but without such a wheel turning, he wont hire for dick?)....

I'm sorry I'm ranting here...and I'm sorry some of you think I've lost my rocker....but the fact remains that voting for Obama has resulted in exactly what I'm spelling out here.

Now, just to be fail and clear, I dont think this scenario would have been one cvnt hair different if that piece of shit, John DisDain was elected president (and one can argue it might just be worse).....but the answer is NOT deficit spending and burying our children in debt. This sorta thinking didn't help us in 1930 and it wont help us now...

I DO blame Obama and I DO blame bush. both have an equal share in this curse they've thrust on the american public. The difference, however....is that Obama is currently in a position to fix things, improve this economy and get the wheels of business working again....

You know, I missed this quote...and felt compelled to return and write a postamble. Behshad, you're a fucking piece of shit. Really. I've been jobless for 72 hours...how presumptious for you to assume that's what I'm doing. I voice my opinion on a matter...something quite a few of you here have ZERO restraint from doing on a daily basis. It happens to be that I feel that this economy and it's condition are being exascerbated by the select few that are currently in power. It's clear you don't like my opinion. Just remember...yours stinks as much as mine.

The one difference, and now that you've posted what you've posted...I sincerely hope this economy stings you in the ass half as much as it's stung mine...and that you maintain twice as much composure as you get stung. Because, even so, I don't think you can handle it....you are either in the most secure job in the world, which I highly doubt....or you're just fucking dumb.

Good luck in the next year or two, asshole. You're going to need it....

What makes it worse, phyllis, is that I've spent the last 72 hours, with the exception of as much sleep as I can muster and a few minutes here or there to get my mind off of things by surfing here.....

...literally ignoring my kids and family while I scour job boards, fax/mail/email resumes, call former classmates, professors, job contacts.

No....even sunday, I'm working to re-employ myself.

My kids are upstairs sulking/crying as I ignore them looking for a new job.

I've often gotten mad while posting here, but never ONCE lost the understanding that this is just a message board and we're all just posting from our various internet personas. This is a first for me...

This is where your true colors some out dude.

I never wished you anything bad, nor did I laugh at your situation,,,, in fact in my 1st post to you here I told you Im sorry you lost your job.
And if Im the asshole for stating the fact that YOU LOSING your job was not Obama's fault, then be it
According to your own post , your empolyer hired you as temp without letting you know.... Didnt you get hired when Bush was in office? And if your emplyer had the intentions of having you as a temp, then how does Obama's corporate america policy or lack of, affects your situation??

And I have pretty much the same job security that you had a week ago. I bet 90% of us here are in the same boat. You just dont get the point. I would probably come here and have a rant should your wishes come true and me losing my job. However I dont think I would try to put the blame on anyone and everyone and just insult people cause Im mad at my emplyer or the economy.

Again, I restate my point. I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to you. and if it does, you might have one more person than I have to blame....kharma.

Do yourself a favor, and walk away from this topic. I'm doing the same. It might do us both some good.

Just a note, and I really think this thread needs to fucking die a quick death.

Behshad and I discussed this offline and straightened things out. For everything in this thread I posted that was nasty towards him, I want to publically apologize.

Thanks for everyone's kind wishes in this thread. hopefully, I'll find another job...and you guys will be the first to hear such good news.

most of the time, horses are animals that look strong and triumphant.

Something very wrong about a horse getting violated by an animal that can accomplish the act.
