I grew up here in Thousand Oaks and I've heard about the "starving Musician Steve Perry" several times. Glad he made it.

Not really. Just the "I knew him when" stuff. I think people always stress the part about him being broke because it's quite the rags to riches story. So that comes up. I didn't actually believe it before - because people said he went to TO high and I found out that was not true. But I guess he was here for a while. No negative stories - just how broke he was.

That article and your comments place him there about when Alien Project started up. This must be where he "went back to the turkey farm" from.

Reminds me of the kid in Good Will Hunting. Cards stacked in Perry's favor so much its hard to believe he really "gave up". I think maybe he couldn't pay the rent in TO so went back to regroup before trying again.
