That is a good call.

I don't believe it has. A Perry, Augeri or JSS performance of this would have been awesome.

I dunno...they dusted it off for Jeff.
Then again, he's of Hispanic descent.

I vote for "Suzanne".
You would never guess this song made the charts given how little respect it's shown.

Suzanne's a real good tune, although they have played it several times in this decade with Deen singing. I never got to see it in person though, which is what this thread's all about to me anyway.

I love Neal's understated guitar work in Suzanne.

You oughtta hear what Neal did with it.
Added guitar intro and outro.
Easily the highlight when I saw them in 2004.
Some guy in the frontrow turned to me with jaw agape, and pointed to SA resting on the sidelines, and said "That guy's days are numbered."
Deen's bravura performance notwithstanding, Neal managed to turn the ROR tune into a jam.

It was decent. There was a couple of Youtube videos of it while they were in Spain. It's also one of my favorite parts of the DVD, but because of Deen, Neal, and Jonathan.

Just love Deen's smiling mug on that dvd, such a happy camper drumming away, head just a bopping to the music, just loves what he does and it shows!

Yeah, but not to go all Tito on you all, but the MVP of that particular performance may have been Jonathan Cain for me. We all expected awesome guitar and drum solos on that one, but Jonathan rarely gets to shine outside of the melodies and harmonies. But he traded solos with Neal and kicked major, major, major ass on the ivories.

I've come to love Suzanne. Before my problem with it was the beginning b/f Steve starts singing. I didn't like it. I still don't like it. But a beautiful song. I would love to have seen that with the added guitar parts in concert.

I really like "Suzanne." It was a different sort of Journey song (and I liked the bass intro). But it really wasn't a showcase piece.

Just joking.

The songs that I would like to hear more often are "When You Love a Woman" and "Higher Place."

I LOVE this song. I think it rocks.
Loved it on Neal's solo album and Generations.
Way cool.

So there. Now, go back to what you were doing.

Throw "Better Together" in there too. Both songs kick ass.

TNC's right, too, the DeTour version of Suzanne flat out stone cold smoked (SJ pretty sure I sent you that, too; check). And it rocks pretty decently on the album but wow.... :o

natural thing-the best journey song to have never made an album.i couldn't find this song for years until the box set was released.of course then i found out it was the b-side of don't stop.

people and places-one of the most underrated songs in the catalog.

rubicon-one of the more heavier journey songs that would be great to hear live.

happy to give-the best tune on the r.o.r. album in my opinion.

You have good taste in songs. :D Those are the two underrated songs I chose. Though, I feel WCTNGOF is the best song on ROR, but HTG is a favorite on there of mine, as well.

Me too. :) While neither Homemade Love or Can Do would win any songwriting awards, I love the sexy bluesy feel to Homemade Love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apc5RpCPYCo but don't like Can Do, definitely my least favorite Journey song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyGZkktQjw4

I'd take all three. I love the pre-Perry albums and Arrival. I hope they mix it up this year since they're basically on their own. Of course, if they did a few shows with ChickenFoot, I'd be in heaven. :D
