::SIGH:: :roll:

Can we just clear the air once and for all on this whole SPFO/Steve Perry/JSS mash-up? She did say the man had a big nose. And, well, there you have it. Easy mistake to make, really...so let's move on, shall we?

(There, SPFO, that ought to keep those womens off ya...and you're welcome) :D :D :D

No way can a huge gaffe like that be ignored.
There is WAY too much mileage in this for it to be forgotten for at least three years.

So, I'm not jumping to conclusions, I'm relying on my gut instincts and they have NEVER failed me.

I'm sorry, but... um... dude, what? Randomly guessing that SP would be on Idol because of RJ is just as much a shot in the dark as "woman's intuition". You don't know him, nor could you possibly have gut instincts about what he might do any more than any of the rest of us could guess. Been reading tea leaves and playing tarot cards? Those are just as reliable, I hear.

We don't know that man or anything about his life or what he's presently doing. To claim such is kind of wacky.

When/If Steve Perry announces a project, then believe it. That's the only kind of fact anyone cares about.

Well, she was bashing another women in her post.
There isn't a women alive that doesn't use their "intuition" in every day life.
My point was not that I know Steve Perry or what he is doing, but that I'm relying on my "intuition"
along with other facts to form a conclusion that I stated in my post, that SMFP is going to be on AI this season, IN MY OPINION.
That statement doesn't deserve BJB's ridicule. :(

Not flirting at all. I'm happily married and don't do that kind of stuff anymore. I'm just stating fact. That picture is easy to look at. Just because a guy is married doesn't mean when he sees beauty that he can't acknowlegde it, does it?

Now the fact that I enjoy her posts and agree with her on all of them, doesn't hurt either.

Seriously, I was just trying to state with respect, what's obvious in her avatar. I'm sure it's not the first time she's been complimented on her looks. She's hot........isn't that still supposed to be a good thing?

Well, yeah.

Confusing the two wasn't the point.

Claiming to be such a HUGE fan and knowing so much about the man, coming on to MR and yelling for two pages that you were 100% sure it was Steve Perry, and then claiming one's intuition NEVER fails, and putting other posters down over it was probably more the point.

But I could be mistaken.

You said he wouldn't "risk" not being in great shape and singing in front of 20 million fans. What's to say he isn't in top shape and ready to go? Hmm...... And IF he is, what better place than in front of said 20 million?

Of course not. You're all over anyone who's waiting at the bottom of Mount Sinai, begging you for you vast knowledge as you descend with your tablet of secret Steve Perry information that God gave to your neighbor's boyfriend's mailman's sister's babysitter's dogwalker's grocer's brother. I mean, who can blame you? You gotta show your fans love, or they won't crown you king of being right about everything if Perry releases an album. :D

SP making his great at long last comeback on American Idol would be the lamest disappointment ever. American Idol... for Perry's comeback moment... no one can seriously think that's a good idea? That's probably the most neutered vanilla load blowing way to comeback for someone like him.

You sound jealous, and I'm being fitted for my crown as we speak  Because it's gonna happen.
Seriously, I just like people who take a positive approach about the subject. Instead of he can't, he won't, he hasn't, he didn't. That gets so old. If we didn't know for a FACT that he's been working on new stuff, and this was 5 or 6 years ago, I could see being more negative, but there are too many known things to ignore. It's just a matter of the dates.

You seem to always confuse my info line. It's just my sister's friend. That's all. Friend of years and years and years, but still, just a friend. And a friend who told her SP was working on stuff month's before it was CONFIRMED on this very forum.

So leave my mailman, dogwalker, babysitter and grocer out if it. THEY weren't right about him working on new stuff, my sister's friend WAS.

I can't trust your intuition b/c you argued for quite a while on your old post re a Steve Perry sighting in a wig with a tribute band when you told us JSS was Steve Perry, even when many people gave you facts, gave you heights, told you pointblank who it was. It wasn't that you were mistaken. It was how in the face of so many facts and longtime Journey fans telling you who it was that you were so adamant that it was Steve Perry and argued that you would recognize that voice anywhere, that there's only one voice like that. You trust your intuition and I will trust mine, which is he isn't going to be on AI. It's halfway through, and it would be amazing if he performed after all these years and exciting. But I think for Steve, after having not performed for about 14 years live, that he wouldn't chance his comeback in front of 20 million people or so not being at his absolute best and wouldn't risk it as he's a perfectionist. And, truthfully, the older acts on there have been disappointing many times, and I don't think are really appreciated by a good portion of the audience. My intuition has been off before. I hope I'm wrong with my opinion on this, but that's how I see it.

Not slagging on ya SP Fan in Oregan, just an honest question, but that is one thing I never understood about that whole thing. If you are a major Perry fan how can ya not know what he looks like????? :? That's like me seeing Robert Plant and swearing it's Eric Martin? :?

This is old news, but for those of you who do not understand, I'll explain one more time. I attended this great party at St. Regis in Monarch Bay on New Year's Eve 2007. While the band was doing their sound check, my friend and I came into the area where the party was going to be and talked with a pretty blond women sitting there with her two little girls. We learned she is married to the lead guitarist for BOOGIE NIGHTS. I asked about the band and its members. She told me and my friend, "The singer tonight is STEVE PERRY, the former lead singer for Journey." Why would I question her about whether she is telling me the truth? Up until that moment, I had never heard the name Steve Perry, and I didn't know who he was. I heard the name Journey, but didn't KNOW their music. During those 10 years that Steve Perry was with Journey, I lived on and cared for an 800 acre horse and cattle ranch in Oregon, 30 miles from the nearest neighbor or town with no phone, no t.v., no radio, isolated from the outside. My husband (now ex) had a business in town and would bring groceries and things I needed for the ranch home to me, so I never needed to go to town, rarely. So, this singer comes on stage that night, sings Journey songs, sings beautiful melodies, has dark hair, and I take his picture, go up on stage and meet him and all the while believing it's Steve Perry (cause that is who the gal said it was, and I would not know any different.) It wasn't until August 2008 when I was driving across country with my brother that I heard a "young" Steve Perry singing on my brother's CDs. Then my brother gave me the DVD of Journey's Greatest Hits and I saw a "young" Steve Perry for the first time. I was so impressed that I started reading everything I could find about his life story, bought ALL the Journey albums, and Perry's solo albums, read every interview I could find on the internet, watched every YouTube with him singing or being interviewed. All the while, believing I had met the older version of Steve Perry on New Year's Eve 2007. What if someone told you that the mother you had all of your life isn't your mother? You would be adamant too about your belief. That's how it felt to me when for almost a year, I had believed that I had met Steve Perry and then a bunch of people at MR are telling me I didn't. It took a little time to figure out how that could be, but then I relented when some kind person on MR posted a picture of JSS wearing the same damn pants he was wearing at the New Year's Eve 2007 party I attended. Since then, I have meet JSS again, he's tall, dark and handsome, and only 43. I told him about this crazy experience I had and he laughed. I'm a JSS fan AND a Steve Perry fan now. The advantage I have of just discovering Steve Perry is that I am not chomping at the bit to get a new album out of him, I'm just enjoying the songs he already did for the first time. My only regret is never seeing him in concert. I have said many times that I appreciate learning the truth from the MR people, otherwise I might still be living with a picture of JSS thinking it was Steve. :D

OK, whatever. Why appear on the most watched show in the country and maybe the world in a given week? That'd be a horrible career choice.

But you have to see that it was funny.
And you have to have broad shoulders on here because you will have people having a laugh at your expense on here at some time or other.
And probably more than once.
And as I said, this one isn't going away anytime soon, so just shrug it off and have a laugh with us.

But hide your supply of Cadbury chocolate and Guinness in case madsplash knows where you hide it.

Sounds like an honest mistake. If you had been a fan for years and made that mistake it would be funny, but since you hadn't even HEARD of the damn man, it's totally understandable.

What you have to understand is that there are some here who have NEVER made mistake. They're always busy cleaning their glass houses and working on their stone casting technique.

And you have to have broad shoulders on here because you will have people having a laugh at your expense on here at some time or other.
And probably more than once.
And as I said, this one isn't going away anytime soon, so just shrug it off and have a laugh with us.

SP making his great at long last comeback on American Idol would be the lamest disappointment ever. American Idol... for Perry's comeback moment... no one can seriously think that's a good idea? That's probably the most neutered vanilla load blowing way to comeback for someone like him.

OK, whatever. Why appear on the most watched show in the country and maybe the world in a given week? That'd be a horrible career choice.

Tell us just how you think he should do it. Not in front of 20 million people who like music. OK, what's a better idea?

Oh boy, this again?
It's American Idol. He's Steve Perry. I shouldn't have to explain this.

Uhm...no. It's not just your ears. I think I can kind of see what she was trying to do, but she just wasn't able to pull it off. Apparently her style is supposed to have some sort of bluesy/jazz-like vibe. This week she just sounded flat.

She's into Bjork bigtime.....but she sings all her songs with that same phrasing....I think she'd do well singing stuff like Colbie Caillet....IMHO.

Ain't that the truth! You have a great bluesy sound to your voice Suz. It's funny, I absolutely love any song with a bluesy feel to it, but don't care for jazz.....or maybe it's just old style jazz I don't know.

Agreed on Megan, she sounded quite flat and I wasn't impressed with Lil either, she pretty much over sang her song by screaming it.
