Too funny!! All in the Family was a great show!! It would never be on TV now.......we are far too politically correct these days!

Great video. Imagine how much they thought times were changing back then and how there is no hiding anything these days...

Great clip! I've never seen that before. We end up watching All in the Family quite a bit because it's the funniest thing on when we flip through the channels.

Yep. This one even topped "Seinfeld". The best show, ever.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Can't compare. Totally different shows. All in the Family is my second favorite comedy BEHIND Seinfeld. AiTF only had Archie's ignorance, that's it. Seinfeld had numerous characters that were neurotic. As far as writing, Family had lots more contributing writers than Seinfeld. Lear, Rhine....etc. Seinfeld was basically Larry David and Jerry. Family was almost 100% topic of the day/political. Seinfeld was more neuroses/foible driven.

With me it is a toss up. I like both shows equally. When you try and compare you end up ragging on one of the shows, discrediting one of the shows you supposedly liked.

However, that being said...Seinfeld had more creative writing than Family.....each character had their own story arc, and by the end of the show each was tied together into everyone else's....nothing like it EVER on television, and there won't be ever again.

I always have this argument with my best friend about my favorites versus his. I basically tell him his shows suck because the humor is forced and predictable in his shows. Shows like Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, etc do absolutely nothing for me....the humor is predictable, rarely funny, and truthfully....lame.

Seinfeld is smart comedy....the thinking man's sitcom..... 8)

Those are married people shows, that's why a lot of people don't think they're funny. I never thought Everybody Loves Raymond was all that funny either. Then you move in with someone, and those same stupid situations start happening to you, and you see why its amusing.

The one with Ray and Deborah and the epic suitcase battle... omg... I wish I had a dollar for every time some stupid thing like that happened to me. And that witch of a mother-in-law... if my ex-MIL had lived across the street, my relationship would have ended a whole lot sooner.
